SAVVIS Selected by the Montral Exchange for Online Trading Applications
📅 - Managed Internet services firm SAVVIS Communications (savvis.com) said yesterday that Bourse de Montréal Inc., the Montréal Exchange, had selected SAVVIS' Financial Xchange to deliver network connectivity to its electronic trading system, called the "Système automatisé de Montréal"/Montreal Automated System (SAM).
The Montréal Exchange will use SAM and SAVVIS Financial Xchange to connect participants to various research and trading applications. Users connecting to SAM via SAVVIS' network, will be able to transmit orders to the Montréal Exchange and receive confirmation reports over high-speed TCP/IP connections from anywhere in the world. Participants in the Montréal Exchange include some of the largest broker-dealers in the world.

(VitalStream.com -> inap.com), a digital broadcasting solutions firm. Under the agreement, which received over 98% approval from VitalStream common shareholders, Sensar will begin doing business through VitalStream, which is now a Sensar subsidiary, and will move its headquarters to Irvine, California. 📅 - PSINet Europe Sold for $9.5 Million - Bankrupt ISP PSINet (psinet.ch) said today it had entered into an agreement to sell PSINet Europe to a group of investors for $9.5 million US. The group is led by led by Israel Corporation, a publicly held company, and ClearBlue Technologies Holdings. Because the transaction was structured as a stock purchase, the investors agreed to assume all liabilities and obligations of PSINet Europe. (verisign.com) announced its results on Friday for the quarter ending March 31, 2002, missing expectations and announcing its plan to lay off 10 percent of its workforce. Revenues for the first quarter were $328 million. VeriSign says its results for the quarter reflect the acquisitions of Illuminet Holdings Inc., which closed on December 12, 2001, and H.O.
