May, 2002 : Latis Networks Unveils Security Solution for SMEs

📅 May 16, 2002 - Network security software provider Latis Networks (latis.com) today unveiled StillSecure Border Guard v2.5, a scalable architecture designed to protect the networks of small to medium-sized enterprises from unwanted intrusions.

StillSecure Border Guard is the first product in a series of security solutions for mid-size companies to be offered by Latis Networks. The product, according to the company, is built on a scalable, adaptive architecture that implements rules based responses in real-time, and is controlled from a Web-based console. StillSecure Border Guard is offered as a software solution, a software appliance with hardened OS, and as a 1U rack mountable hardware appliance.
"The success and reputation of a business relies heavily on the integrity of its network, and that means network security is mission critical," said Rajat Bhargava, co-chairman and CEO of Latis Networks. "StillSecure Border Guard provides network administrators with an affordable way to proactively and continuously protect their corporate networks and therefore keep their businesses up and running."

📅 May 15, 2002 - Interliant Obtains $7.5 Million Loan for Operations - Managed infrastructure services firm Interliant, Inc. (interliant.com) said today it has secured a working loan of $7.5 million from Silicon Valley Bank, a California chartered bank with principal offices in Santa Clara, California. The underlying loan agreement has a term of one year and provides for interest at prime plus two percent on amounts borrowed. The loan is collateralized by a first-priority security interest in the company's personal property. As part of this transaction, Interliant also issued to Silicon Valley Bank a warrant to purchase 1.2 million shares of its common stock at $0.30 per share. The warrant expires five years from the date of issuance.
