Dec, 2002 : VeriSign Offers Trusted Content Delivery
The TCD solution, says VeriSign, is designed solve some of the long-standing delivery flaws in the software and antivirus software market, including: anti-intrusion, which secures all points between the user and system administrator with digital certificates; update spoofing, which authenticates software updates with VeriSign digital code; hoax warnings and notifications, including communication through the VeriSign application rather than public email; content level control, allowing individuals to maintain their own revocation histories; and software piracy reports, which advise administrators of their systems? license compliance.
VeriSign says the TCD solution will be available to software providers in the first quarter of 2003, and is designed to reduce the risk of sophisticated cyber threats as well as provide system administrators with precise certified system audit information and ensure licensing compliance.
The company also announced a jointe development agreement with Command Software Systems parent company Authentium Inc., to adapt TCD concepts and provide a secure distribution process for delivering antivirus software and updates via the Internet
