📅 June 6, 2003 - Internet Service Provider Cogent Communications (cogentco.com) announced today that it is offering service delivery guarantees of 5 business days or less to all Cable & Wireless (cw.com) ISP customers in danger of losing Internet connectivity.

The offer is in response to Wednesday's announcement from Cable & Wireless that confirmed the company's intentions to exit the U.S. market.
?Cogent's network is well equipped to meet the needs of small to mid-sized ISPs with our radical pricing of $30 per megabit. Customers deemed not profitable to Cable & Wireless can be well served by Cogent, and we welcome their business," said Dave Schaeffer, CEO of Cogent Communications.
According to Cogent, it can guarantee a 5-day turnaround because the ISP owns its own facilities-based network, enabling it to avoid coordinating with traditional telcos.
