According to Terremark, the NAP of the Americas will support the city's communication needs and significantly expand its connectivity capabilities. The City of Coral Gables will relocate to the facility in July 2003. "Locating in the NAP of the Americas will not only save us money in the future, but will allow us to continue to expand city services offered to Coral Gables residents via our Web site,? said Coral Gables Mayor Don Slesnick. "The NAP also provides an extremely secure environment that can withstand emergency situations, providing the perfect environment to eventually deploy the City of Coral Gables' back-up and disaster recovery programs." Based in Miami, Florida, Terremark is the owner and operator of the NAP of the Americas, the 5th Tier-1 Network Access Point in the world.
