Jul, 2003 : Secura GmbH to Accept Registration of .pro Domain

domainregistry.de logo📅 - Secura GmbH (domainregistry.de), an accredited ICANN Registrar, announced today that the company will accept registration of .pro domains on and after July 31, 2003.

The company is also making free pre-registration available for all qualified registrants.
The .pro domain is reserved exclusively for professionals. At this point, only lawyers, medical doctors and certified personal accountants are eligible.
In order to register, registrants must provide certification that verifies membership in one of these professional groups. A validation process will cross-verify the registrant's self-certified personal identity and professional information against appropriate licensing databases.
To facilitate private and confidential communications, .pro will be the first registry to bundle a digital certificate with every domain name, providing the ability to send encrypted and non-repudiated e-mail.
Secura GmbH is an ICANN accredited registrar of top level domains.
