Xentos is a web hosting brand from Luminea IT Services GmbH. Under this label, they sell virtual servers for demanding private users and companies. The know-how in the web hosting segment goes back to the year 2001.Luminea is a technology-oriented IT service provider for industry and medium-sized businesses. They have been advising well-known companies from a wide range of industries for over 15 years. As a full-service provider, they cover essential areas of information technology. Their main business areas are IT consulting, infrastructure solutions, and online marketing.
Together with Wolfgang Kaufmann and Stefan Loeger, Luminea founded Dipl.-Inf. (FH) Norbert Schollum founded the web hosting company eBuz Internetdienste GbR, which was successfully sold to the Nuremberg company IP-Exchange in 2007. IP-Exchange now belongs to the listed company QSC AG. Xentos now has more than 10 years of experience in the field of high-availability hosting solutions.
The technical basis of their vServer offer is the virtualization technology Xen. After an intensive evaluation phase, the decision to use effective virtualization technology was made when they started in 2007. The open-source solution Xen was developed at the renowned Cambridge University and impresses above all with its performance, which is due to the intelligent paravirtualization approach.
