Overall a positive experience. Great uptime. Low prices. $2/mo with no setup fee for the Cpanel Mini plan. Quick responses using their ticket system. SSL encrypted email. More disk space and bandwidth than the competition for the price.
When I originally found Tooniehosting I was looking for a Canadian company with low prices. I haven't found a cheaper Canadian-based solution out there.
I recommend Tooniehosting!

Not only have I used this company for many years [10 years+] with my own previous personal websites, I have recommended Toonie Hosting to a number of my clients. The service has always been impeccable, and of course, at the price this is being provided for, there just is no other comparison on the market. The other companies may have some good lures, maybe a bit more glitz and whistles, to get you to buy their hosting services initially, but they will bite you the following year when their prices double!! I tried that, but came straightways back here. Nothing compares to the long term value of this company! Just setting up a new project, and wouldn't consider going anywhere else!

Generally when Ive had any minor probems in the past both tooniehosting/datona.com replied very promptly. Now my website as well as tooniehosting/datona comunications dont work/load(for the last 24 hours), Ive sent multiple emails with no response as of yet and now am becoming very unimpressed. Hopefully they will get on it, its costing me anywhere from 120-240$ a day in profit. Hate to have to take my business elsewhere...

😉 What's going on?
My service was satisfactory at best. I paid for a website to be hosted, website was hosted. Only times I generally had any problems was server downtime. My only issue in that department was while it was infrequent, it was generally lengthy, and I had no way of contacting support for help/information (support is through the same server.)
Recently it is my understanding that there was a server fire on Oct. 29th. My website (and theirs) was up briefly since then and i was able to glean that information, and we were going to see what data could be recovered now that a replacement server was (supposedly) operational.
Everything has been down continuously since and I'm in the dark now.

I have been with them for around 6 months now and as a test, I have moved 2 domains to them. I will be moving the rest as I am so impressed with them. Customer service will help you, they are punctual, and they will help you with misc. html issues which is not really their responsability (my webmaster was out of town).
I signed up for the CPanel hosting account on the front page which is an awesome deal!
Pay it forward I say! They have impressed me so I would like to tell everyone to give them a try!

Best web hosting I have ever had. The support team gets back to you within 1-2 hours and always answers your question. My website has never been down and is fast. The hosting plans are really cheap and you are paying 15$ a year for something that would cost 30$ with other hosting companies.

😠 WTF! Website down for 2 days!
I dont know what these guys or guy problem is but my site has been down for 2 days and there response has been:
"We are currently having to re-image the server due to a failed hard drive.
The new drive is in and the OS is being installed now."
I got clients wanting to see my work and such and losing money! They dont even have a phone number to call!!!! I cant even log in the member area!!!
Dont deal with them!!!

😁 This is coming from a Grade-11 student. They walked me through everything that needed to be done. I would fire a question, wait a minute, and it was answered. The features are clean and organized, editing is sooooo easy to access. I spent maybe a 1/2 hour setting up my account for tooniehosting.ca. The price is unbelievable, $26 yearly is my cup of tea. Bottom line, give them a chance, you will be impressed.

😁 I run shoppe.ca using tooniehosting, and I heartily approve of this host. I have inadvertently been a pain in their butt since I started my account up but they have uncomplainingly helped me out every step of the way. Their trouble ticket system is simple and efficient. Their prices are awesome. Control Panel speed is surprisingly good. There is good access to my raw error logs.
I've been doing this stuff for a long time and these guys are the best I've ever encountered.

The hosting is incredibly cheap. I used both Loonie hosting - $12/year and cPanel hosting $24/year. I suggest taking cPanel for $48/year with 10 additional domains you can host on the same account - that comes to $4/year per domain.
The latter (cPanel) gives you a *much* better server response and has newer software (PHP and friends). cPanel plans also have some 40+ software suites each installable in 30 seconds with Fantastico.
Today I asked them about FTP over SSH or SSL and after a bit of discussion they added it to my server *ON THE SPOT*. How nice!

Been with them for about 6 months now and they are great. Had problems with moving my site but they helped get all my database coding corrected, moved the database for me, and got everything working correctly within 15 minutes!
Was with Hostgator before and they where terrible. Since switching to tooniehosting, I've been more then happy.

😁 To be honest, I was initially concerned that using a less expensive company for my hosting needs would result in poorer performance and customer relations; I must say that I was wrong. From the onset, toonie hosting staff were very helpful and made my transition from my former hosting company seamless. In addition to assisting with the transfer of my webfiles, they were able to point me in the right direction of required information and tools for my transfer. 😁 I am a new customer, after accidentally letting my web hosting lapse on another site, I needed to get up and running fast as this was a not for profit site and their event was coming up soon! I purchased the CPanel Hosting Plan.
Within an hour I had purchased the space, loaded my site, changed the DNS info with my domain registrar and everything was back up and running! And at a fraction of the cost of my old hosting package!

😁 Very happy with this hosting company... Some ratings only 9 because of lack of time with company.
Chose basic toonie package with a admin panel only to realize that what I really wanted was the mini hosting package that had the cpanel. That is your biggest problem. Anybody that says that this company has good customer relation in their review, has experience running websites, and hasn't really needed their truly deep needed services. For the rest of us, we can just through caution to the wind, and hope for the best!

😁 I signed up with toonie hosting a while back but wanted to wait to do a review.
Well I am happy with them. I did read OC's review below but do not understand as my site has been up all the time and that I have been in communications with their support department on a frequent basis as I am moving quite a few sites to them now.
All in all, they are good.
They do not offer a free html editor but then again, it seems like most hosting companies out there that offer them but they have to raise their prices to provide this to their customers.
I would recommend toonie hosting to others!

😠 I don't know if they're having problems these days, but almost every time I want to access my website it doesn't work. It keeps trying to connect for minutes and I never get an error message.
So I tried to contact the customer support, all I got was a message that my e-mail could not be sent...

I have been with hostgator, justhost, and several others but was not happy with the very slow support (up to 1-3 days to get a response) but with toonie hosting, they get back to be fast.
From a stupid question to a real coding issue, they have worked with me to get the issue resolved.
Since then, I have moved several sites to them and I am quite happy.

To my surprise, they where great!
It is a no frills, cheap hosting package that worked for me.
When I had problems, I would request help in the their trouble ticket section and get a quick response and guidence to solve my issue.
Ever since then, I have added more site and used mainly the Toonie plan ($2 per month).
David in Customer support is my favorate. If I met him, I would give him a great big hug for all the help he provided to me when I started my first site because he went beyond typical support. 😃 Tooniehosting has been surprisingly great. I didn't expect much out of them as their costs are so low but I was happy when they have helped my husband and I get out website up and running.
We where having quite a few issues as we are new to the internet schene but they where friendly and helpfull.

😁 I was also a customer of lunarpages.com but did not like how they did not care about their customers and how the had quite a bit of downtime. I want my site to be up for my customers to see! After switching over to tooniehosting.ca, I have been happy. No downtime, customer support is great and quick. I could not have asked for a better web host. I took a gamble as their site is plain, not flashy but in the end, a flashy web hosting company website just means that they have to charge you more to have that designed!

😁 I was paying a ton a month for hosting before and the service was crap. Now I pay a fraction and the service is way better! Before my sites might have been down for a full day or even two and now it's usually an hour or so and somebody actually responds to you, usually in minutes.

They have been able to move my site over to their web server and figure out quite a few things on my site to enable it to run on their server. They even helped me get my DNS changed and all my email setup.

😁 I have had my kitchen store with tooniehosting now for about 8 months. I decided I wanted to wait to see what quality of support I received from then before posting a review of them.
Well I must say they are one in a million. I've been with other hosting providers (even ones listed on this site as being rated quite high) and I know now that I can not get support anywhere else as good as toonie hosting.
Their plans are great, not rich in tons of useless features, just good hosting.

Well I must say they are one in a million. I've been with other hosting providers (even ones listed on this site as being rated quite high) and I know now that I can not get support anywhere else as good as toonie hosting.
Their plans are great, not rich in tons of useless features, just good hosting.

😁 I'm a customer of tooniehosting for about 3 months now and have been wow'd by their customer support. I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to moving my website from my old hosting provider but when I asked them if they could help me, they took the bull by the horns and moved the whole site for me without asking! Within an hour of asking for help, it was all done. I could not believe it. I signed up because I had read their reviews on this site and for the cost, I would try them. Well, I can not even put into words how good and professional they are.
My old hosting provider didn't even give me the time of day, just took money from me.

What I have found is that their is real customer support with tooniehosting. With servage, they do not care about their customers and would take 24-48 hours to get any help when needed and even that was more like I they don't give a shit.
When I decided to move, I signed up with tooniehosting and right away I asked them if it was possible to help me move my site. Within 20 minutes, they contacted me. From there within 2 hours, the whole site was moved and my site was good to go.
I must say that they, even though their cost is so low, they offer true services and anyone out there should not pass up.

😁 Very very quick and responsive technical support. When they say 24/7 they mean ALL night and day. I run a website (www.oilfieldclassifieds.net) where my customers can't tolerate down time. When the OTHER hosting company's servers crashed, I lost everything.After the incident, I switched to tooniehosting.ca. With the help from technical support, I was up and running that night. I'm very impressed with this company, they will do anything to help you. Thanks again!

Dude, what was you smoking? You emailed them 10 times? It states in the email you get from them about your hosting package that, as a customer, their is a customer support section for you to use. If you used that, you probably would not be so upset.
I have just submitted 2 trouble tickets in the past few days and both were replied to quite quickly and professionally. 1 ticket was for something that was my fault and didn't expect them to assist but they did and even when I appologized for my ignorence, they brushed it off as just a mistake.
I have to say that this company is great. Their prices are great and their service is fast and they assist to get your issues resolved.
I just suspect that since I know others that use tooniehosting as their hosting provider, Dan Belland's trying to cause an issue that is all in his mind. Get life buddy.

😠 This is the biggest, worst, rip off site on the entire internet. Nothign what they tell you is true and they will not solve any problems. they advertise customer service 24/7 and then i emailed them 10 emails and they never responded until i found their direct email some how and then i got a response. THEIR answer was that they get 10,000 spam per day so they cant tell the difference from spam and real people. Also, you DO NOT GET A DOMAIN like outlined. The domain i got consisted of 15 different numbers in front of the domain i registered and thats what you have to type in if you would like someone to go there. YOU literally have to type the entire IP plus the domain you buy off them of you cant visit the site.. They are SO RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL in every aspect of business and WILL NOT refund EVER because secretly this is a SCAM.

😁 I purchased the one dollar per month plan thinking that I am going to get what I paid for but I found that was far from that. Service is awsome, no downtime, and the support department was very quick and professional in helping me get my site moved over. After having problems attempting to move all my website files from my old hosting provider, they offered to move them over for me and it was done within 15 minutes!!!
From there, I have moved 5 of my other sites to them and will be a long term client of theirs as they are great!
Thanks to the reviews on this site, I have now found a home for my sites and are quite happy here.

😁 As a $1.00/month hosting subscriber I was hardly expecting much from these guys but the two times I've had to contact customer support I've been exceptionally impressed. Both issues were resolved within hours and they communicated well throughout the process. I almost feel guilty since I'm only paying a buck a month! I highly recommend these guys.

😁 Was a little nervious to signup due to the fact that the prices where so low but since I have signed up, I have been happy with them. It seems that altough the prices are dirt cheap, they quality is great. Scott and David from customer support are both prompt and professional. Support is very quick and they assist me to get all my questions answered.
I now have 5 sites with them and will be bringing more over to them as I am 100% confident in their hosting.

😁 I've been with www.tooniehosting.ca for about 5 months now and love them. Their prices are low but not the quality of support and hosting. They are off the charts! Their support helped me move my site over, assisted in setting up my DNS, and have been quick and friendly.

😁 After being with Ipower.com and not liking them one bit due to their VERY poor customer support, I moved 1 site to tooniehosting.ca. After 2 months of phenomenal support, I decided to move my other site to them.
They have been the best! I would agree with other reviews on this website that it seems that, although their prices are low, they've got the goods! I get great support in a VERY timely fashion. Usually responses within an hour, not 24 hours like ipower.com or other hosting companies I have been with.
I would suggest tooniehosting.ca to everyone. They are the cats ass!

One major reason I have so many sites here is that I can be hosted with one of the lowest priced hosting services around. Yet I get the same service as higher priced ISPs. I used the lowest cost plan because it means I can continue adding sites at an affordable price.
But that is not the only reason. Loonies people are dedicated to satisfying customers when the occasional problem pops up, some due to my own ignorance..

😁 I stumbled across tooniehosting.ca about 9 months ago and due to the prices, I decided to host 1 site with them to see what they where like. As the price was great, I thought I had nothing to loose.
Well, 9 months later, I have 18 sites with them and have been very happy.
Customer support is quick and helpfull, even with dumb questions.
