😁 Fantastic Customer Service!
I have been a very happy RSAWEB customer for nearly 5 years now. Whether it be my personal home fibre or my business hosting, RSAWEB have always delivered world class service. I only wish other companies could learn something from them, they actually care about their customers. Prices are excellent value for money but i'm not on here taking my time to write a review because of price, it's because the guys at RSAWEB always go above and beyond for me as a customer. love these guys!

😁 Brilliant Customer Experience!
I have multiple services with RSAWEB, whether hosting for my business or home fibre for a number of years... these guys have been great! The most important thing for me is post sales service, if there is ever a problem I want to know someone is going to help me, and RSAWEB staff always go above and beyond for me, i can be quite demanding but they always deliver outstanding service!

😠 Poor service and bad business tactics
Signed up with RSAweb 7 months ago and now they feel the need to increase monthly fibre costs by over 95% for their clients. This is their business strategy, they sign you up low and then increase their prices later to make up for their shortfall by over 95%.Then requesting a claw back period for the business promotion and 2 days notice to return a router if you wish to cancel.Stay away or don't sign up with their promotions.

(3*) 🔧 Services: Web HostingDomain Registration Own datacenterRSAWEB operates as a South African internet service and cloud/hosting provider rather than a simple budget web host. The company has been around since 2001, founded by Rob Gilmour and Mark Slingsby, and has grown into a mid-sized team headquartered in Cape Town with an additional office in Johannesburg in South Africa. Over time they have built a portfolio that runs from home fibre and mobile data up to cloud servers, virtual data centre services, shared web hosting, email hosting, domain registration and enterprise data-centre solutions.
For classic web hosting, RSAWEB offers shared hosting on shared servers. Websites and email accounts sit on multi-tenant Linux servers managed by RSAWEB, with clear rules around content, disk usage and acceptable use. Shared hosting is meant for "normal" website workloads: HTML/PHP sites, CMS platforms and business email. The hosting terms stress that disk space is for website content and related email only – no general file storage, backups, warez or adult content – and RSAWEB reserves the right to move sites between servers and backbones if needed. Spam and virus filtering is included for email, and there is built-in webmail access, so small businesses can run their entire web and mail presence on these packages without extra software.
On top of that sits domain registration and DNS hosting. RSAWEB registers domains through accredited registrars (for example via OpenSRS for many gTLDs) and keeps the domains under the customer’s control while handling the technical side – DNS, renewals and transfers in or out. Domains are typically registered for 12-month periods with renewal responsibility falling on the customer; transfers from other hosts are supported, and there is explicit protection against "cybersquatting", with disputes handled through the standard ICANN / South African ADR processes.
The company also runs a broader cloud and IaaS stack, notably under the CloudDNA / SME Cloud umbrella. This includes cloud servers, virtual data centre environments, backup and disaster recovery, and cloud security services. Customers can build virtual infrastructure (from a single cloud server to a full virtual data centre) on platforms engineered and operated by RSAWEB, or let RSAWEB manage workloads on hyperscalers such as AWS through their cloud partner practice. For SMEs this provides a middle ground between cheap shared hosting and complex enterprise infrastructure: virtual machines with flexible CPU/RAM/disk, API-driven provisioning, and options to bolt on backup, DR and security services.
Higher up the stack, RSAWEB caters to larger businesses with dedicated servers and colocation-style solutions in South African data-centre facilities, as well as connectivity into those sites via business fibre, fixed LTE and MPLS-style services. That means a customer can keep latency-sensitive workloads inside local data centres while backhauling branch offices over RSAWEB’s own network.
A key differentiator is that connectivity and hosting live under one roof. A company can buy fibre access, route it into RSAWEB’s own data-centre infrastructure, keep public-facing sites on shared hosting or cloud servers, push backups into their backup/DR platforms and have everything supported by the same support and billing system. This integrated model suits South African SMEs that want one provider for internet access, hosting and cloud, even if RSAWEB’s marketing today leans more toward connectivity and cloud than low-end shared hosting alone.
💰 Price & Cost
All pricing is billed in South African rand (ZAR), which is convenient for local customers and makes costs predictable in local currency. Residential fibre and LTE have prominent price grids with month-to-month and prepaid options; hosting and cloud services sit more in the business portfolio and tend to be positioned for SMEs and enterprises rather than ultra-cheap shared hosting.
For shared hosting and domains, the legal pages show a typical structure:
- Domain registration carries a once-off registration fee plus recurring annual renewal. Initial setup and registration fees are explicitly non-refundable.
- Domains are generally registered for 12 months at a time, and renewals or auto-renewals remain the customer’s responsibility.
- Shared web hosting is billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually depending on plan). Pricing tiers differ by disk space, traffic and included mailboxes, but are firmly in the "business-grade" bracket rather than rock-bottom hosting.
RSAWEB supports standard South African payment methods. Across the site and terms you see:
- Debit order against a bank account for recurring services.
- Credit/debit card billing processed through PayFast and similar gateways (used especially for prepaid fibre and online upgrades).
- EFT / bank transfer for some account settlements and business clients.
On refunds and money-back guarantees, RSAWEB is more conservative than many global retail hosts. There is no generic 30-day money-back guarantee for hosting or cloud servers. Refund language appears mainly around connectivity products where an order cannot be fulfilled – for example, prepaid or fibre orders may be refunded if the underlying fibre network in the area is not live or cannot be installed. For hosting and cloud, cancellations are governed by contract terms, and certain services such as CloudDNA mention cancellation fees when terminating within the first 24 months, with those fees dropping away once the service has run longer than two years.
As of Januaryy 2026 rsaweb.co.za don't offer web hosting ordering. Main shop, Fibre, Fixed LTE, Hardware and Security products are done via shop.rsaweb.co.za. Hosting packages (cloud / managed hosting / SME Cloud): is based on sales enquiry.
For potential customers, the key takeaway is that RSAWEB behaves more like a telecom / ISP player with formal contract terms than like a casual pay-a-month-and-leave host. It suits businesses that are comfortable with that style of relationship and contract-based services.
🏢 Data Center
RSAWEB’s infrastructure is anchored in South African data-centre facilities in Cape Town and Johannesburg, complemented by international points-of-presence for better global reach. The corporate pages talk about multiple data centres, high-capacity backbones and a mix of connectivity (fibre, wireless, mobile) feeding into these sites, which function both as internet edge locations and as cloud/hosting platforms.
For shared hosting, websites are hosted on RSAWEB-managed servers. The hosting terms specify:
- Servers are shared with other customers, with RSAWEB retaining ownership and control of the hardware.
- RSAWEB reserves the right to move sites between servers and across different internet backbones, both domestically and internationally, to maintain performance and stability.
- There is a strong content and resource policy: shared hosting disk is strictly for website content and related email/system files, not for general file storage or backup archives, and prohibited content includes warez, adult sites, "spellcaster" content and other high-risk or illegal material.
RSAWEB implements internal security controls and disaster-recovery measures in line with good industry practice. They call out protection aligned with POPIA (South Africa’s data protection law), a zero-tolerance stance on abuse and spam, and the ability to lock or suspend services in the event of DDoS, abuse or legal takedown notices. Backups on shared hosting are expressly for server restoration only; customers are expected to maintain their own off-site backups for websites and email.
On the cloud and IaaS layer, services like CloudDNA, SME Cloud and virtual data centre offerings run on clustered virtualisation platforms inside these South African data centres. Cloud solutions are bundled with backup and disaster-recovery options, cloud security, and in some cases managed AWS environments – so workloads can run either on RSAWEB’s own cloud or on AWS while being managed by the same team. This gives local businesses access to modern infrastructure with low latency to South African users, plus a path to global hyperscale when needed.
In terms of uptime, RSAWEB offers stable connectivity and high availability, and some connectivity products mention service availability figures around 99% for last-mile access. Hosting and shared web services, however, are framed more in "best effort / professional services" language than as an explicit 99.9%+ hosting SLA. Enterprises that need contractual uptime guarantees for critical workloads generally achieve that through bespoke cloud and connectivity SLAs rather than relying solely on the generic shared-hosting terms.
✍️ Customer Support
Customer service is built around a mix of online portals, omnichannel contact points and local business-hours phone support.
Key elements include:
- A Customer Support Portal that acts as the main hub for logging and tracking issues. Customers sign in with existing MyRSAWEB credentials, open tickets, attach screenshots and follow the status of incidents in one place.
- A detailed "How to log a ticket" guide that walks users through logging tickets via the website, ensuring each issue gets a reference number by email for follow-up and escalation.
- Live Chat on the website, generally available Monday–Saturday 7:00–20:00 and Sundays and public holidays 8:00–20:00, used for both support and sales.
- WhatsApp support, typically on the same 7:00–20:00 schedule, with a chatbot called Mira handling first contact and routing conversations to agents where needed.
- Phone support on 087 470 0500, with core support hours around Monday–Friday 7:00–18:00.
- Dedicated business contact channels: separate email addresses for business support and for large and small business sales, plus a business contact page that reiterates office addresses and phone numbers.
The support terms also cover how RSAWEB handles issues such as DDoS attacks, abuse complaints and takedown notices: if a site is targeted by a denial-of-service attack that impacts other users, the service may be suspended until the incident is handled; illegal content or spam activity can lead to shutdown under their content policy and ISPA takedown process.
In practice, this setup suits customers who like having both digital and human contact options: tickets for traceability, chat and WhatsApp for quick questions, and a local call centre for escalations during business hours.
🔨 Control Panel
Management of services is split between RSAWEB’s own customer portals and the underlying hosting tools.
- MyRSAWEB account portal is the central place to manage services, see invoices, upgrade or cancel products and keep contact details up to date.
- The Customer Support Portal sits alongside MyRSAWEB and focuses on support interactions – ticket logging, real-time chat and status updates.
- For domains and hosting there is an RSAWEB Control Panel, referenced directly in the hosting terms. This control panel is used to manage domain settings (DNS, renewals, ownership changes) and access hosting resources. It is tightly integrated with RSAWEB’s own systems rather than being a generic third-party portal.
- Webmail is available for email hosting, giving users browser-based access to mailboxes without needing a full desktop client, with spam and virus filtering applied at the server level.
- A mobile app exists for service management, allowing customers to track orders, check billing, and manage services on the go – useful when you’re responsible for connectivity and hosting but often away from a desk.
Taken together, the control-panel story is more "integrated ISP platform" than "classic single cPanel login", which fits RSAWEB’s positioning as a combined connectivity and cloud provider rather than a pure cPanel host.
🎯 Conclusion
RSAWEB is a local ISP and cloud provider that also offers serious hosting. The brand brings more than two decades of experience, South African data-centre presence in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, and a catalogue that ranges from shared hosting and domain registration up to cloud servers, virtual data centres, managed AWS and enterprise connectivity. For a South African business that wants one partner for fibre, LTE, hosting, cloud and security, this tight integration is a real advantage. On the hosting side, shared hosting is tightly managed and policy-driven: clear rules about content and disk usage, strong spam/virus filtering, and explicit reminders that customers must maintain their own backups. Cloud and IaaS options give SMEs a credible path beyond shared hosting without having to jump straight into managing hyperscaler infrastructure themselves.
There are trade-offs. Web hosting is no longer the hero product on RSAWEB’s site; connectivity and cloud clearly dominate the narrative, and there’s no generous money-back guarantee for hosting if you simply change your mind. Backup responsibilities lean heavily on the customer, and strict content/resource rules may feel limiting for some edge use cases. For low-budget personal sites or developers who want maximum DIY control on a shoestring, leaner specialist hosts may look more attractive.
For South African SMEs and organisations that value working with a local provider, need reliable connectivity, and are comfortable with a more formal ISP-style relationship, RSAWEB offers a coherent platform: host your website and email, run virtual servers or a virtual data centre, back them up in the same ecosystem, and lean on a single team for both network and hosting issues. That combination – plus their long operating history and local data-centre footprint – makes them a strong contender when you want connectivity and cloud under one roof rather than yet another commodity web host.

😠 NEVER EVER EVER SIGN UP WITH RSA WEB. EVER.
This is my second RSA Web complaint because the service I've received up till now can only be described as laughable. From the service team, to accounts, right down to ops - all useless. I was charged R1600 to have my internet reinstated after it was wrongfully terminated due to my payments not being allocated. For months no one from RSA Web bothered to reach out to me regarding my "outstanding" account balance until one day when I came home to no internet... After numerous phone calls and emails it was determined that my payments were never allocated. I was told that it was my responsibility to ensure my affairs are in order and as a result a R1600 fee would be billed to my account for reconnection. This after a WEEK (if not longer) of trying and trying to get my internet reconnected. At that point I was just about fed up with the whole thing and wanted to cancel and have nothing more to do with these imbeciles. Nicole, in ops, threatened to change me another R1600 if I cancelled [read more...]

😁 I don't normally write reviews but given how fantastic my experience has been with RSAWEB, especially Timothy, it's only fair to let others know. I just want my service to work, and if there is ever a problem that a capable person will resolve quickly... gosh, they nailed it! My service barely has an issue in 3 years and when it did recently, RSAWEB resolved so quickly, and this was out of hours! Best customer service I've had, thanks guys!

😁 I've only had an excellent experience at RSAWEB. RSAWEB prices are basically the best in market but it's their emphasis on great customer service that sets them apart from other providers I've dealt with. Their engineering teams across Fibre/Network connectivity and Cloud services are so knowledgable and easy to deal with.

😠 Im very unhappy with RSAWEB. I have not been able to connect my phone plus 5 other people who have been here on business cannot connect their phones to the internet. I went in with my Router and cell phone hoping that the technician would help me but unfortunately after waiting a long time for him to get me connected i was told when i get home to put in the network and the password. I was very happy thinking at last things will be okay again but when i connected my router my phone automatically went to the TP- link he gave me but still couldnt connect. When i called the call center again i was told by one of the technicians that i must turn my router upside down and the tiny sticker i must find the little digits under the WPR Why did i have to do it when i went with my router and cell phone hoping that i would get proper help. Then the word spread that i was angry then no one wanted anything to do with me. One lady even put down the phone when she heard it was me even though i was [read more...]

And your info above that says Support 24/7 is BS
Can't wait for an ISP that doesn't have issues - they ALL seem to have.
Recommendations to RSAWEB will decline.

😞 RSA are the worst!
The internet of our business ADSL line drops all the time and the response time from RSA web has been terrible. I have started using another ISP and the internet hasnt gone down since. They only realised that our router was off 5 days later and asked me to reset and i have no thoughts about turning it back on and using their service again.
