😠 npsis.com is the worst ever!
I hope someone sees this before they decide to buy from this company - npsis.com. They are the worst company ever. Customer service skills were not taught from birth on any of their staff. The most horribly ran company I have ever had the unfortunate pleasure of coming across. I had been doing business with npsis.com for 10 years. I had moved almost all of my business to another host over the last year, but had one site that required an older version of php and decided to keep it there. That decision kicked me in the a** when i got this email from them today:
I'm sorry but there was an issue on the host machine that hosts your VPS and we were unable to recover your data from the virtual hard disk. We have reloaded a new server using the same ip and credentials. You will need to upload your content to the new server to bring your site back online.

I apologize to all of my previous customers who hosted with me from 1999-2006. It was the best 7 years of my life and it was definately fun. I was forced to sell the company for ownership and financial reasons that were mostly out of my control. I want to thank each and everyone of my loyal customers, it was a joy working with you and taking some of those emails even at 2:00AM in the morning. Since NPSIS I have moved to Washington and started back into my art career which has taken off for me. I am now selling at Pike Place Market on Sundays, if you are ever up in Seattle stop on by I would love to chat. I am also running a very small scale hosting operation at medeek.com if anyone needs an economy hosting solution.

😉 My name is Jason and I am an abryiah survivor. Here is my "story". I was going to switch hosting companies but then I heard that a new company called hostirian (http://hostirian.com) bought npsis in the last week or so. Finally the incompetent shrew Tia and her pathetic support staff are gone ( I miss Nathan ). My site was having issues and I called the tech support number and I almost dropped the phone when somebody, yes read a person here, answered. This is coming from a person who in the past (2 years worth) when I called they would never answer. Emails went ignored. But the guy on the phone was very helpful and explained that a company called hostirian bought npsis this month. He was helpful, explained the situation about what happened with everything and they even fixed my site for me, apparently they are 24/7 because I received an email from them saying my site was working now at 11pm pst. 😠 I have been using NPSIS for six years and have seen the quality of service steadily decline. The customer service is a joke. If you have a problem and call on the weekend, you will get a recording that is cut off halfway though. They do *not* provide any service on weekends. They direct you to their online chat help, which is always down.
I have been unable to access my account and sent in a ticket on Saturday. They finally responded today and told me that my account had been transferred to another provider. They didn't give me the name, but said that I would be contacted by the new provider. When? I have no idea. So, now I'm playing a waiting game and can't access anything or do any updates to my website.
Please, whatever you do, avoid this shoddy hosting service. I wish I'd dropped it three years ago. Live and learn, I guess.

😠 Prior to October2006, when Nathan Wilkerson ran the company, I was always able to reach somebody at NPSIS by phone and any problem was quickly solved. After he sold it to ABriYah LLC (5448 Apex Peakway #344, Apex, NC 27502, 919-303-7334) they hardly ever answered the phone. And when they did, the support staff seemed to have little or no technical expertise.
I stuck with them for another year and a half, hoping they'd get better. (Hope springs eternal!) Then last January they migrated from the old FreeBSD systems to Linux servers. Linux and FreeBSD are similar enough that it should have had virtually no effect on my code. But the new management made such an absolute mess of everything that I was finally driven to find another webhosting provider.
The final straw with them was that, when the new Linux servers replaced the old servers near the end of January, they restored my data from a dump they'd obviously taken sometime in mid-December! They lost a month and a half worth [read more...]

😠 i'm an old customer (since 2003) on the shared unix standard plan. i'm generally patient and tolerant of inefficiencies. but my frustration and disgust with npsis overwhelms everything else. my advice, STAY AWAY. there are MUCH better companies for the money. but money is only secondary with hosting services, reliability is topmost in my opinion, and that is where npsis is a big zero.
