DZ.NIC is the body approved by ICANN for the management of the ccTLD .dz relating to Algeria.The management of domain name registrations under .dz is an activity that was initiated by CERIST with the introduction of the Internet in Algeria in 1994. Registration with ICANN was operational in May 1995.
Domain names under .dz are assigned by delegation of the domain name. This delegation is done on "DNS" domain name management servers.
All entities established in the country or having legal representation in Algeria or having a document justifying the name property rights in the country can be assigned a domain name under the DZ domain.
The actual registration is done through registration entities, delegated by the NIC.DZ and called "registrar". The registrar forwards requests to the NIC.DZ and manages domain names on behalf of its clients.
The registration of domain names in the .DZ registry is taken care of by the NIC.DZ at no cost to the registrars for the benefit of the applicants.
For this, the registration procedure must be done online through the registrar.nic.dz site.
