By dedicating its marketing efforts to .dm domain names worldwide, the corporation aims to stimulate investment opportunities and showcase the tourist resources of Dominica.Established in 1997, during the rapid growth of Internet technology, DotDM introduced the concept of domain name registration to the government of Dominica. In 2001, the .dm domain name was launched globally, supported by strategic promotional campaigns targeting diverse markets. Since the re-delegation by IANA in 2007, DotDM has been fostering responsible relationships to establish Dominica's presence in the cyber-marketplace.
Key milestones include the re-launch of the .dm Registry Platform in partnership with Key-Systems GmbH in 2012 and the deployment of the first Community DNS node in the Caribbean and South America in 2014, enhancing internet security and resilience for .dm domain names. In 2018, DotDM achieved another milestone with the merger of Key-Drive SA and CentralNIC Group PLC, migrating onto the CentralNIC Registry Platform in 2019.
In 2021, DotDM partnered with Uniregistry UNR for Registry Backend Service, enabling the deployment of DNSSEC for .dm domain names. Following Uniregistry UNR's acquisition by Tucows, Inc., further development opportunities arise for improving Internet Governance for ccTLD.dm and Dominica as a whole. Through strategic partnerships and initiatives, DotDM continues to contribute to Dominica's growth in the digital sphere.
