The shared-hosting range consists of ECO, MULTI, PRO, VIP and EXTREM VIP. Storage allowances extend from 10 GB to 100 GB on SSD-based systems. ECO supports up to five websites and suits a small company presentation site or personal project. MULTI increases the allowance to ten websites and adds SSH access. PRO supports an unlimited number of websites while providing larger storage and database limits.

VIP hosting places each customer inside a separate VPS container with a dedicated IP address. This reduces competition for processor and memory resources while retaining a managed hosting environment. EXTREM VIP provides a dedicated server node for considerably more demanding websites and applications, with MediaCenter continuing to manage the underlying hosting environment.

The separate PREMIUM-VPS service uses KVM virtualization and provides root access, SSH and browser-based administration. Processor allocations use dedicated virtual cores rather than basic shared CPU quotas. Available operating systems include AlmaLinux, Debian, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, Fedora, openSUSE, Alpine Linux, Arch Linux and Gentoo.

Each PREMIUM-VPS includes a fixed IPv4 address, unlimited traffic through a 1 Gbit/sec connection, hourly file-system backups retained for 30 days and two complimentary restoration operations per year. Virtual machines are also mirrored to secondary hardware, allowing services to be restarted with limited interruption after a physical-host failure.

Email services are included with all hosting packages through POP3, IMAP, authenticated SMTP and webmail. DKIM signing is supported for both included and separately purchased SMTP services. Dedicated SMTP provides a monthly allowance of 10,000 messages, while VIP SMTP increases this to 100,000 messages through a customer-specific IP address. Newsletter Center packages are also available for managed email campaigns.

Multiple PHP branches are available, including PHP 8.5 and older versions retained for software compatibility. Older PHP releases remain useful during migration work, although production websites should generally move to a currently maintained branch.

The website is available in Hungarian and English, although the Hungarian version is considerably more complete. Some English sections contain unnatural phrasing or untranslated interface elements, and contracts are concluded in Hungarian. OPCache PRO is already included with VIP and EXTREM VIP.

PREMIUM-VPS BASIC costs 40,000 HUF plus VAT per year and includes 10 GB of SSD storage, 2 GB of RAM and one dedicated vCore. PRO costs 80,000 HUF and includes 20 GB of SSD storage, 4 GB of RAM and two vCores. EXTRA costs 120,000 HUF and includes 40 GB of SSD storage, 8 GB of RAM and four vCores.

Additional storage, memory and processor resources can be purchased separately. The standard VPS storage allocations are relatively small, so database-heavy applications, file-hosting projects and media-rich websites may need an upgrade from the beginning.

A .hu registration, transfer or renewal costs 2,400 HUF plus VAT per year. A .eu domain costs 3,000 HUF, .com costs 6,500 HUF, .net and .org cost 7,500 HUF, .de costs 6,000 HUF and .at costs 14,000 HUF. Numerous other international extensions are available individually. Domain services include primary and secondary DNS, browser-based DNS administration and URL forwarding.

Dedicated SMTP costs 15,000 HUF plus VAT per year for up to 10,000 messages per month. VIP SMTP costs 100,000 HUF per year for up to 100,000 monthly messages through a dedicated IP address. Newsletter Center packages range from 30,000 HUF to 100,000 HUF plus VAT per year.

Payments can be completed by online bank card or bank transfer. Services are prepaid for fixed subscription periods. Some contractual fees may also be established in euros and converted into HUF, although the regular product catalog is priced mainly in Hungarian forints.

The money-back guarantee is connected to justified service-quality complaints rather than an unconditional hosting trial. A proportional refund can apply to directly delivered services when availability or another contractual quality requirement is not met. Requests must be submitted in writing, and an accepted refund terminates the affected service.

Third-party products and immediately completed services, including domain registrations and issued SSL certificates, are generally excluded from this refund mechanism. Consumers also retain statutory withdrawal rights during the applicable 14-day period, subject to deductions for services already activated or completed.

🏢 Data Center

MediaCenter’s servers are housed at 18–22 Victor Hugo Street in Budapest, at the location associated with the Budapest Internet Exchange. The company operates its service infrastructure and IP address space from this facility.

The platform uses Dell servers, SSD storage, hardware RAID mirroring, redundant electrical distribution, independent network paths, continuous monitoring and administrator supervision. The network has an aggregate capacity of 40 Gbit/sec and connects directly to the Budapest Internet Exchange.

MediaCenter operates AS44460 and maintains its own RIPE-registered address space. The network originates the IPv4 ranges 92.43.200.0/21 and 185.68.72.0/22, representing 3,072 IPv4 addresses. Both prefixes have valid RPKI authorization.

Network connectivity includes RackForest, Hurricane Electric, Core-Backbone and other European network operators. The Budapest Internet Exchange connection is complemented by several additional providers.

The contractual availability commitment is 99.5% per year, excluding announced maintenance. Availability below this level can qualify for a proportional daily credit or refund, limited to the value of the subscription. The long-term operational average exceeds 99.8%, although the binding SLA remains less demanding than the 99.9% or 99.95% guarantees available from some business-oriented providers.

Shared hosting includes hourly recovery points. The broader backup system retains daily copies for 28 days and maintains a geographically separated disaster-recovery copy. PREMIUM-VPS file systems are backed up hourly and retained for 30 days, with two complimentary restorations included each year.

Independent customer backups remain advisable, particularly for business-critical databases and frequently updated applications. Standard hosting packages are intended for websites and related services rather than general-purpose archive storage, remote backups or large-scale file distribution.

Hardware and network systems are monitored continuously. A detected service failure can trigger an SMS notification to the on-call administrator within approximately three minutes. This round-the-clock infrastructure monitoring operates separately from normal customer-service hours.

✍️ Customer Support

Customer support is available by telephone and email on working days from 09:00 to 16:00. The Customer Portal remains accessible at all times for administration, orders, renewals, invoices and service configuration.

Technical problems can be sent to muszaki@mediacenter, with responses normally provided by the following working day. Complete service outages can also be reported by SMS through the authenticated Customer Portal.

Technical assistance for configuring and using subscribed services is included by telephone and email. MediaCenter uses its own Web Hosting Settings platform rather than cPanel or Plesk. The administration system has been developed internally and is closely integrated with the company’s hosting, domain and email infrastructure.

The technical interface manages storage usage, FTP and SCP accounts, IP restrictions, backups, virtual hosts, subdomains, DNS records, cron jobs, PHP versions, php.ini options, MySQL databases, phpMyAdmin, password-protected directories, custom error documents, web statistics, logs, mailboxes and spam-filter settings.

A separate Customer Portal handles commercial and administrative tasks such as orders, renewals, invoices, pro forma documents, contact details, package upgrades, service transfers, nameserver changes and customer-service messages.

PREMIUM-VPS customers receive root access through SSH together with web-based virtual-server administration. This is a self-managed Linux environment, while VIP shared hosting remains a managed service with an isolated container and dedicated IP address.

Webmail is provided through the separate LevelCenter interface using Roundcube. The administration tools are extensive and practical, although their visual style is older than that of cPanel, Plesk and many current proprietary hosting dashboards. Customers moving from another control panel may initially need time to become familiar with MediaCenter’s terminology and menu structure.

The dated website design and incomplete English localization also make the service less convenient for international customers.

For Hungarian companies, developers, institutions and website owners with a mainly domestic audience, MediaCenter provides a credible combination of experience, local infrastructure and flexible hosting options. Projects requiring stronger contractual availability, extensive international localization or continuous live support may need a more enterprise-oriented provider.
