😠 worst service possible
when moving to new servers they were supposed to migrate content and allow me to preview the sites and make sure everything worked. Instead they turned on both new and old at same time without checking first, split DNS so it took 72 hours to get it all cleaned up and pointed back to original sites and none of the migrated sites function correctly. Complete fiasco has me changing to go-daddy. - Avoid at all costs.

😁 I am using their services for my personal website. I don't have any complaints about their service, support and performance they have been always good in performance. Speed is great. They are great the others I found like them are Blue host and Domain racer. I will surely recommend these to others.

😠 Trying to sign up and this company is impossible. Cant do the simplest things. They wont take a perfectly valid good credit card. Then when you so called get setup, you run into another road block. Try to do a domain transfer after they claim to have your card charged, then do the domain transfer and then your card gets blocked again. Email support when they just emailed you, they dont bother to respond back. I wish I never signed up, wasted 3 days of my time when its 0 hour before my site expires. Thanks for nothing!

😠 Disabled services without letting me know
I had a bad experience with Hostica from the begging but I stuck it out. That was my mistake. They reduced my mysql connections to an unusable # (only 10). They then told me that I would have to upgrade to get more connections. OK, I used my dedicated server for hosting the largest of the 3 databases with the most traffic. Years later, I look back and it looks like they again disabled my other databases completely. My sites aren't working and it is the last draw. Canceled.

I've only needed help a few times and when I did email support the few times, the quickest response I got was 6 minutes, the longest was 9 hours. I've been with companies that have gone over 16-32 hours for a response. I've never called, but I've used live chat as well which cleared up my question quickly (was regarding wordpress and I needed to reeneable php)

They secretly tie you into long term automatic renewals, make it difficult to delete your stored payment details (huge mistake giving them my credit card info), have horrible terms of service that essentially remove any normal customer rights, and simply quote read our terms of service on any complaint emails - aka 'get lost!'. Trust me, choose a different company to do business with.

As far as auto payments go, they are there for user convenience and simplicity and nearly every request we receive about an accidental charge, we refund it (subside those in our TOS, such as domain refunds, abuse etc).
We do have the option to add a credit card for automatic payments which are stated when you sign up. It is easy to remove, simply change it to check (or any other) payment method and then you can select and delete it.

😠 Everything they say about their service and EVERYTHING on their website is a lie, including the 30 Day Money back guarantee!!! Before you pay them, they are very friendly on live chat and promise to response to customer support within 30 minutes via email. They also say that live chat is on 24/7. My website has been down several times for over a week and they are not responding to email and they hung up on me on live chat. Their live support is only on a few hours a day. They are incompetent and careless.

Dont expect fast customer support and they have left my email account down a few times taking days to resolve. If you dont mind having you account down for a couple days and price the is the only object, you may look for a free service as you will get the same customer support grom them as you will from this paid provider.

I purchased an SSL certificate which says it is installed and of course it is not working as I get a security warning - the result is many of my clients web pages are not working. Over 12 hours and no response to my support ticket. I host over 70 sites with them, and I cannot contact them. They have NO support telephone number either.

Worst hosting company there is. Ignores customer requests for information. Charged me for services and support that I never received. Website was down for over a month. I have been with Hostica over 10 years. They were stellar until a couple years ago. Now you can email them until your blue in the face and they just ignore you. I have a business website that is down, has been for over a month and i've sent in 4 support tickets now, NONE have been answered at all. I bought a service i thought might fix the problem, they charged me, cleared the credit card but then the service was never delivered or setup. All attempts to find out why or to get them to come through have been 100% ignored. I'm filing fraud charges with bank this week. RUN LIKE HELL PEOPLE.

I have been with Hostica for over 10 years, now, and suddenly in the last year, their customer service level has sunk from a former vote of 10 stars to zero. They did not tell us that they no longer took emailed support questions. So I was very surprised when my email bogged down 5 months ago--giving continual errors in the login process, after a month of getting no response--which shocked me, as they were formerly highly responsive--as much as one could expect for such reasonable hosting costs. I was getting a particular error--which even though I erased a LOT of unnecessary emails--has not made any difference. So I know the problems are on their end. And even though I figured out to go to the site to log support issues, they have not bothered to answer my latest about not being able to use their email package on my new iPhone. I can edit email text for all of 2 seconds and then it locks me out of being able to type anything, and it erratically then lets me edit, all of the sudden. [read more...]

These guys are the worst. Not only do they seem clueless as to how to actually help anyone, they don't seem to read the incoming complaints. There email is terrible. I have run over the limit on one account and they are seemingly unable to help me figure out how to clear the account and continue to get mail. I am simply unable to get help from them.
I have never seen anything this bad in my life! I can't believe they are still in business.

😁 Excellent low-cost, high value web hosting
I have been with Hostica for more than ten years and have always been very happy with their service considering the very reasonable fee they charge. I have been able to make changes quickly and have always had the level of support that allows me to learn but is there to pull me out of the crapper when needed. On several occasions they were able to get me back on track when i had totally screwed the pooch. On only one occasion did I have a conversation with someone who was rude. Two things I will say about that are 1) I had left a lot of security holes open in my site which had been compromised and I am sure they were not happy about that and 2) People have bad days. It only happened once in over seven years. How bad is that? I have no problem recommending them to anyone and have done so several times in the past. I currently host 15 domains with them and plan to add several more. Hostica gets my vote of confidence.
I have been with Hostica for more than ten years and have always been very happy with their service considering the very reasonable fee they charge. I have been able to make changes quickly and have always had the level of support that allows me to learn but is there to pull me out of the crapper when needed. On several occasions they were able to get me back on track when i had totally screwed the pooch. On only one occasion did I have a conversation with someone who was rude. Two things I will say about that are 1) I had left a lot of security holes open in my site which had been compromised and I am sure they were not happy about that and 2) People have bad days. It only happened once in over seven years. How bad is that? I have no problem recommending them to anyone and have done so several times in the past. I currently host 15 domains with them and plan to add several more. Hostica gets my vote of confidence.

😠 I was calmly and casually speaking to a representative from Hositica regarding a question about changing my NS's and he was being very abrupt and short with his answers. I understand that they are pretty busy but don't appreciate being rushed off the phone and treated like an idiot. I replied to him "You're being a bit abrasive and rude and I would like to speak to your manager." He got really defensive and said "If you want to speak to a manager... call back" and HUNG UP ON ME!!! THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

😃 Hostica has been an average hosting company. It sure beats Godaddy!!! The customer service has been excellent. They have always answered my emails within 24hrs and have gone beyond what the average hosting company would do.
The speed is OK, however there has been a few times that it seems to be very slow.
Overall I have been very happy however they are not as good as Hostgater.
