Extreme Hosting servers are located in a 82,000 square foot data center owned by Sago Networks. The data center is a high class hosting facility located in Tampa, Florida.
The data center was built by a group of Data Center engineers with a combined 86 years of experience in technology construction and, specifically, data center construction and maintenance.
Power system
All facilities are backed up by UPS, Generator, and Battery power to support 4,000 amps running at 13,200 VAC with full N+2 redundancy.
Environmental system
Environmental conditions are ensured with 590 TONs of Computer Room Air Conditioning and 180 TONs of house air conditioning in the data center alone.
Network Infrastructure
A Full Cisco Powered Network that optimizes wire speed technology.
Network Operations Center
The N.O.C is a 2,500 square foot 24/7 manned network control and operations center that ensures all systems are continuously available and support and monitoring is always outstanding.
Connectivity
In addition to redundant dedicated connections to Tampa's largest Carrier Hotel, the facility also has extensive availability of dark fiber and several Internet Carriers onsite.
Security
From the basics, such as 24/7/365 security and onsite network monitoring; to the advanced, such as strategically placed biometric palm and thumb scanners, extensive use of physical man traps, dual authentication access doors, and a state-of-the-art Altronix powered security system, every possible measure has been taken to address the concerns of even our most security conscious customers. The latest addition to the security system is the expansion of a CCTV system to 116 cameras with archived storage of up to two years for selected cameras.

In order to maintain high quality services Extreme Hosting uses cutting edge technology hosting servers. To achieve a maximum uptime machines are monitored 24/7 by our administrators and monitoring software from several distinct locations. Built by specialists using latest technologies, our machines are designed to handle high server loads and traffic peaks. Backup servers are always available to ensure proper functionality of the entire network.
Server Security
Here at Extreme Hosting, a combination of SNORT and global network sniffing is used to track down and eliminate abusive network traffic. This could be anything from a new trojan, SQL injection attack, or botnet. When this malicious traffic is detected on the network, a block is automatically placed across the entire network against the attacker to ensure that their efforts are thwarted. This provides your websites the best opportunity at being protected at the provider-level.
Sago Networks prides itself on having built a solid, redundant network; and can thus offer greater than 99% uptimes. All this is achieved through a simple and scalable architecture. In the Tampa facility, numerous connections to the Internet backbone are managed. (utilizing the BGPv4 to transmit route information). All connections to the Internet backbone carriers are gigabit (or greater) over divergent optical paths to the two local "teleco hotels" (metropolitan peering points for telecommunications carriers). Internally, redundant routing paths are provided through extensive use of OSPFv2 (RFC 2328).
All core routers are Cisco 12000 Gigabit Switch Routers, which is the router of choice for most major Internet backbone carriers. The switching core employs the Cisco Catalyst 6509 multilayer switch, providing up to 400Mpps(Million packets per second)/720Gbps(Gigabits per second) of switching fabric. Distribution switches within the datacenter are Cisco Catalyst 3550 series multilayer switches, which connect Cisco Catalyst 5513 access switches to the core network.
Power supply system
The power system at Sago's Tampa facility is designed from the ground up to ensure continuous power availability for every mission critical system.. Designed at an incredible capacity of 900 watts per square foot, the system includes better than N+2 redundancy at every failure point. Fed by 13,200 VAC, the system features 480, 277, 208, 120, and 115 VAC availability anyplace in the Data Center.
Environmental system
The industry maximum uptime of 99.9% is the key to success. Extreme Hosting servers are monitored 24/7 from Sago's N.O.C center. The proper functionality of all systems is also monitored from our support center 24/7 by our specialists and network monitoring software. Server connections are tested every 10 seconds from several distinct locations over the internet to ensure 100% reachability from every part of the world.
