😞 We've hosted successfully and affordably with chihost.com for 16 years! Nick Gilbert was the chief cook and bottle washer, and *nix guru, for all that time.
Except over the past few years they've switched to cloud hosting(s), done away with all their telephones, and begun charging for storage space (gigabytes) as if it's 1998! The price we are being quoted to renew our customized shared hosting plan of 16 years amounts to a Steep increase...
And this was after we'd been locked out of their latest (they moved earlier this year, presumably to save money) cloud server for months this year, based partly on server relocation-related changes and partly on incorrect support info!
We are unable to reach Nick, the one who always made things better. The phone # shown on https://www.whtop.com/review/chihost.com is NG, same as all the other #s I've had for chihost through the years. Thus, after 16+ years, we are being ~forced out:
