😠 Arsys is the worst service provider...cannot beleive it
Ok so our requirements were very simple.
We set-up a VPS with dedicated IP, set-up wordpress and that's it!
Now who would beleive its could be something impossible?
First they are still using Plesk Panel 9.3 which cannot even dezip files.
Second, they don't have the application installer, so we had to install manually by sending files one by one with ftp.
Third, SSH is not working and for them to help us we would need to pay 60euro per hour.
So basically what we got was an outdated server which was expensive and nothing was working how it should. On top of that you cannot contact customer service by phone outside of Spain, and their chat support is super slow and unresponsive.
Stay away! That's the last time I take a provider without looking for bad reviews first.

🔃 Arsys is part of United Internet(3*) 🔧 Services: Web HostingDomain Registration ICANN registrar Own datacenter
⇔ Redirected domains: arsys.net arsys.pt servidoresdns.net sync.es arsys.fr gravitynet.es
Arsys is one of Spain’s long-running hosting and cloud providers, operating in the market since 1996 and built around a "do-it-all for SMEs" catalog: domains, email, websites, ecommerce, shared hosting, and scalable cloud infrastructure. The company sits firmly in the mid-to-large provider tier, with more than 1.2 million active services, over 250,000 customers, and 400+ employees, and it operates as part of IONOS (Arsys joined the group in 2013).
Their portfolio is broad enough to cover almost any common online project:
- Domains: registration, transfers, redirection, domain protection, DNS hosting, WHOIS/RDAP tools, and an AI-based name generator, plus volume-oriented domain pricing options.
- Shared Hosting (Linux/Windows): "Professional", "Advanced", and "Unlimited" style tiers with email, SSL options, and unlimited traffic as a recurring theme.
- WordPress Hosting (and WooCommerce use cases): positioned as NVMe-based and designed for quick deployment with a simpler operational path than a raw VPS.
- Reseller Hosting (Cloudwebs): a consumption-based reseller model where resources can be shared-platform or hardware-dedicated, and can be paired with WHMCS on a Plesk server for automation.
- Email: domain email plans plus Microsoft 365, with mailbox migration tooling and add-ons like email backup.
- Website Builder / "Web Profesional" and Online Store: a hosted site builder approach and an ecommerce platform built around ePages, including integrations for popular payment methods and shipping providers.
- Servers & Cloud: VPS, Dedicated (bare metal, pay-per-use), and a Cloud platform managed through their Data Center Designer panel, with higher-end options such as Private Cloud VMware, Kubernetes, object storage, and managed databases (e.g., PostgreSQL and MongoDB).
A consistent theme across the lineup is that Arsys tries to keep the "day-2 operations" approachable: panels are emphasized, deployment is meant to be quick, and scaling is presented as a practical step rather than a redesign of your stack. For customers who want a Spanish-speaking provider with strong local presence and a credible enterprise backbone through IONOS, the overall package is coherent.
The main limitation is that the catalog is so wide that it can feel more like an ecosystem than a single "best at one thing" platform. Buyers who only want the cheapest possible shared hosting may find stronger value elsewhere, but for businesses that want one provider for domains + hosting + email + cloud growth, Arsys is structurally well positioned.
Arsys runs a multilingual storefront with Spanish and English options (they used to have French support, but not anymore), and pricing is displayed in EUR, with an explicit toggle for showing prices with or without VAT.
💰 Price & Cost
Arsys pricing is built around entry promotions and clear upgrade ladders:
- Shared hosting is marketed from €1/month on promotional periods (often tied to annual billing), then reverts to standard pricing after the initial term.
- Email plans are available with monthly or annual payment options, with the ability to change billing periodicity inside the customer area.
- The cloud platform follows a consumption model: core resources are billed by usage (minutes/hours depending on the resource), with items like storage, NAT, load balancers, IPs, and outbound data transfer priced transparently. Their published cloud rate card includes examples such as Kubernetes cluster pricing where the cluster itself is free and you pay for worker resources, plus 2 TB of outbound traffic included before tiered outbound pricing applies.
Refund/guarantee structure is more generous than many Spanish providers:
- A 30-day money-back guarantee is used across key lines (shared hosting, WordPress hosting, reseller Cloudwebs, and email), typically requiring cancellation within 30 days from the customer area to trigger the refund/no-charge outcome.
- VPS is also offered with a 30-day guarantee concept (cancel within 30 days if it doesn’t fit).
- Dedicated servers are positioned with a 30-day free trial approach "from the moment of contracting" and explicitly framed as no initial payment and no commitment during that evaluation window.
On payments, the contractual terms offers direct debit, credit card, PayPal, and bank transfer as the general methods available (with specific products restricting which methods are used for that service). VAT handling is also explicit: prices can be shown without VAT, but the applicable VAT is charged where required.
🏢 Data Center
Arsys has an unusually strong "Spain-first" infrastructure story for a mainstream hosting brand.
The flagship facility is in Logroño (La Rioja), inaugurated in 2009, designed as a modular data center with 6 MW of power capacity and built for progressive expansion. The same Logroño facility holds Tier III certification (Uptime Institute), and Arsys ties that to an expected infrastructure availability of 99.982%. Operationally, the environment is monitored 24/7 with a large set of indicators across services, connectivity, cooling, and power.
Energy efficiency and sustainability are treated as real infrastructure parameters, not just a badge: Arsys references a PUE around 1.25 and a low water-use profile (WUE below 0.16 l/kWh), and they’ve run the data center on renewable energy since 2015, supported by ISO-oriented sustainability and energy management certifications.
Location choice is broader than just Logroño:
- In Spain, they have three data centers (two in Logroño and one in Madrid) and a wider footprint across Europe and the United States through the IONOS group.
- For dedicated servers, the ordering flow explicitly offers multiple regions including Spain, Germany (including Baden-Baden and Berlin), France, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
On network connectivity, Arsys have peering and exchange connectivity: the primary data center connects to ESpanix / espanix.net with redundant 100 Gbps connectivity, complemented by a metrolan path from their second Spanish data center. Through IONOS, they also offer multi-provider connectivity and multiple Internet exchange points, including redundant transatlantic connectivity between Europe and the U.S.
✍️ Customer Support
Support is one of Arsys’ strongest differentiators for mainstream buyers:
- Technical support runs 24/7/365 by phone and email.
- Chat availability varies by department: commercial chat is business-hours oriented, while technical chat is available through the customer area on extended schedules (including 24-hour coverage on weekdays).
- Billing support runs extended hours (weekday long coverage plus Saturday hours).
They also operate a dedicated contact center model and handle a large daily volume of customer requests through multiple channels (phone, chat, customer area, and other channels). The tone of the support operation is geared toward "fast first response," including a stated goal of answering calls in under a minute.
For self-service, the support center, blog, and academy content are well developed, which matters for customers managing mixed stacks (domains + email + hosting + cloud) who don’t want to open a ticket for every configuration step.
🔨 Control Panel
Arsys relies on multiple control planes depending on the product, which is normal for a provider spanning shared hosting to VMware private cloud:
- Shared hosting includes an in-house control panel, and they also support white-label panel access (useful for agencies/resellers who want a branded customer-facing login).
- VPS and "server" lines emphasize the availability of Plesk (including Plesk Web Host positioning for VPS and Plesk Obsidian options for dedicated servers). VPS management also includes a server control layer for operations such as power actions, firewall rule handling, and remote console access.
- The public cloud platform is centered on Data Center Designer, where customers manage servers, storage, Kubernetes resources, and add-ons, and billing is tied closely to resource usage.
- Private Cloud VMware includes access to VMware administration panels, with Arsys handling the underlying stack updates for the managed private cloud layer.
For customers who prefer a single pane of glass, the combination of customer area + product control panels is structured to keep management centralized, even though the underlying technologies differ across shared hosting, VPS, cloud, and VMware.
🎯 Conclusion
Arsys is a mature Spanish provider that makes the most sense for customers who want local-language support, Spain-based infrastructure, and a path to scale from shared hosting into VPS, dedicated, and cloud without leaving the ecosystem. Their standout strengths are the Tier III-certified Logroño data center, a credible multi-site footprint (especially once IONOS locations are considered), a 30-day refund/free-trial pattern across major product lines, and a support organization that is clearly built for 24/7 operations. They are particularly well suited for SMEs, agencies, and ecommerce users who want domains + email + hosting + growth infrastructure under one provider, plus optional tools like reseller automation, backups, antivirus/security add-ons, and managed cloud components. The only real caution is that the product catalog is wide and can feel complex if someone only needs a simple entry plan; in that case, choosing a narrow subset (shared hosting or WordPress hosting) and growing from there is usually the cleanest approach.

😠 Worst hosting company i've ever encountered.
I've been unable to get a site for a customer online due to their improbably ridicolous cusomter service, which promply informed me for two weeks (in catalan!) that my request was being processed.
The customer service STRICTLY only replies in catalan, and some staff doesnt speak an understandable language to the rest of the world.
Internet is global, they think local.
I wonder what happens if they recieve span notifications, or other such cases which involve information exchange in english.
In other words, they are not serious, and i cannot even tell for sure because i cant understand what they are trying to tell me.
