😁 FREE services are allowed to be crappy... but this is NOT.
I have plenty of my own, physical, servers... and certainly enough experience to not "need" a service like this. I still use it-- the free version. for me, it works as a backup in a pinch, a good teaching tool for my babydevs to understand DNS and i fully support how it allows for other users to create subdomains(within reasonable limits and the domain owner's ability to deny with cause).
something like a FQDN (fully qualified domain name) is intimidating to newbies... but necessary for soooo many things. If you just try to google FQDN *something like how to*, it's not exactly newbie friendly.
Afraid.org's FreeDNS is a great resource for society... that costs time and money to maintain for very little tangible personal benefit. I have 23yrs of professional full-stack web development experience; it's simple, straight-forward, reliable and providing a gateway for learning and a valuable societal resource... I'm not affiliated

😁 The review from the Italy Flag person, who says that freedns.org is a scam business, REALLY DOESN'T KNOW what in the hell they are talking about. They are /r/ChoosingBeggars all over the place in that review.
Look, I've been using this service as backup DNS for...holy...Freakin *decades* folks. I honestly can't even tell you how long it's been, but we're talking at least since 2002. You won't find a better service provider for free anywhere on the internet. Take it from me this other review is from a first-class tool, grade A.

😁 I have had an account there for a long time, and used their DNS at various points, but not all the time. I like their service, and today I set up a new set of domain names on their service. Its an interesting concept.
