😠 Terrible service. They left our main website domain down for months and every time we tried to sort it out they said they were sending an authorisation email to complete transfer. We eventually got the emails and authorised them but still our website was left saying "The domain is temporarily on hold pending verification of the email address of the Registrant as per the ICANN rules on Verification of Contact Information." They had no answers for us, we rang them numerous times. In the end we gave up and transferred all of our URLs to a different provider, Stripe OLT, who were very helpful. Use them at your peril! 😠 Breaks the domain portability rules. They steal your domain.
Purchased domain through active24.no on a Saturday morning. The domain was not active until TUESDAY despite being billed on Monday, even while directly checking their DNS servers. (dig domain.com @dnsserver). We tried to transfer the domain to another server, but their actively refused to transfer the domain.
After quoting the ICANN rules to them, we received to reply to tech support. Their web manager tools were being changed and blocked all access to editing the whois records for weeks. After 2 months of trying and finally threatening, we managed to get the NAMESERVER records changed so i can at least edit my own DNS records. After several months of battling them, we simply gave up and accepted the nameservers as a way to keep our site up.
Site/Domain management tools were broken for months, their support completely unhelpful, they don't work weekends and they don't follow the ICANN rules. We looked up to see if the problem was just us - NO domains were transferred out AT ALL [read more...]

😠 I would avoid using active24.fi. The company went into receivership (bankruptcy) on 7 Sept 2010. I didn't know this when I paid for web hosting, which has been a terrible service. My site is still not working properly and they gave inaccurate technical advice. I have asked for a full refund within the 14 days allowed for distance selling and have still not received it (paid 2 Dec 2010. Todays date 5 Jan 2011). This company seems to be part of a bigger company mamutactive24.nl. They say that they have an office in Helsinki the reality is that it's a call diversion fscility. the company is based in Sweden. I have also reported this company to Visa.
