They are part of the United Internet Group. Many consider it to be one of the largest companies that provides hosting solutions as they are currently hosting over 4 million domains. Strato has been an eco-friendly company ever since 2008 powered by Naturstrom AG.The company offers the following web hosting solutions:

Shared hosting plans are protected by SSL certificates and include support for people working with Python or Ruby. All plans include e-mail accounts, databases and domains, but unlike other companies which offer such features in unlimited amounts, they offer them in limited amounts here.
VPS servers run on connections that can reach 100 Mbit/s and unlimited data traffic. All plans include backup control, full root access, clusterIP (failover IP). These are also configured to be docker ready (customers can manage programs in containers for easy app deployment).
Dedicated servers run on robust Intel processors and provide customers with storage options (HDD/SSD). Connections can reach up to 1 Gbit/s as dedicated servers are optimized for high performance. You also get root access and OS management (Linux distributions).
