😠 Pathetic after sale support
I have wasted lot of money, time and efforts with Server Sea. There focus is only on sales once a plan is sold. Client is not at all supported.

😠 I've been hosting with them for over 4 years now. Started off really well, no troubles as such for the first two years. But after that, and specially the last 12 months have been a menace. Their servers are prone to crashing all too often, even twice in three days. This effectively means your website remains unavailable from a minimum of six to around 48 hours (and that too AFTER you notify them that this has happened). Their so-called backups are never there. Or even if they are, they are so outdated that it really doesn't help. Once my website crashed, and they restored the site through backup. But that backup was five weeks old! And they had no answer to why they were unable to use the latest backup (I had an auto backup on weekly). They told me that since that was also on the same server, those backups are also no longer there. Since then I've decided to not rely on these jerks and I have to backup my website myself every alternate day. So I am using a good chunk of bandwidth just for myself!
Recently, they've started putting too many restrictions just by saying that its a 'shared' hosting plan. Previously I could upload files of any size through the ASP script. I had put my controls on the maximum file size. But one fine day, even files inside the limit wouldn't work. Why? Coz all hail brilliant ServerSea, they imposed a maximum 200KB limit on any files uploaded via scripts. This effectively has killed the feature on my site that allowed members to upload pictures/videos. Upon raising this issue, their response was:
"Thank you for using ServerSea Ticket System.
I can understand the problem you are facing and i believe it is not your scripting issue.
The restriction applied from Server end because we are offering shared hosting environment in which hundreds of web sites share same resources. To improve our services we do not impose restrictions but we must follow the default settings to best optimize the shared server, this helps to maintain the service up time.
If we will increase this means the load on web server including CPU and RAM will raise, which will eventually cause poor response time.
Further, i would strongly suggest switching towards dedicated server solution if you are really in serious bossiness or project. You may open a Sales Ticket for quote.

When I pointed out that this so-called limit is not any one of those limits mentioned in the package (like web space, bandwidth, mailbox quota etc.), their only response was that you need to switch to dedicated hosting if you're in a serious business.
Their so-called 24-hour live chat and phone support is also a hoax. You will not find any phone support on Sundays. And even for live chat, be prepared to see the message: "Live chat unavailable, please leave a message". Moreover, live chat is only level 1 support so they don't really help as much if you have some serious trouble with the website. Only minor issues (read coaching manual) can be dealt with. For issues such as website inaccessibility, they tell you to open a support ticket which takes around 4 hours to even bring about a 'We are looking into it' response!
WARNING: Their new terms of agreement says you are not allowed to host any type of audio or video files on their servers since it is a 'shared environment'. And their live chat spokesperson nearly tricked me before I asked the question four times that he mentioned that this is what it is.
CONCLUSION: Two years ago, if you had asked me -- I would have given it a definite yes. But now, seriously speaking, I'd say big fat NO if your website will have regular visitors and have some sort of interaction/activity on it. If you intend to simply upload a basic informational (purely HTML-based) website, then sure go ahead but otherwise if you aim to have sufficient activity on your site such that you can generate revenue out of it, well then ServerSea is your biggest hurdle, not any of your rivals!!! My own package expires in a month's time and I'm shifting to other hosts (that is the reason I ended up on this site)
