*📜 Plan description

A static site with 1 GB (1000 MB) of storage and no database is estimated at $0.38 per week, equivalent to $1.52 over four weeks. No database component is included. This doubles the storage in the medium static example for larger assets, more pages or a bigger collection of uploaded files. The site can begin under a testing domain and later use its own domain. Storage usage, optional services and outbound HTTP or HTTPS traffic beyond the pooled allowance determine the actual amount paid.

NodeHost uses metered hosting with no fixed-term subscription. Storage costs $0.000375 per MB per week and each database costs $0.189 per week; the minimum charge for a site is $0.15 per week. Charges are calculated from actual usage and collected weekly. A pricing month equals four weeks and a pricing year equals 52 weeks. Outgoing HTTP and HTTPS traffic is measured monthly; an account receives 50 GB of free transfer plus another 50 GB for each paid site, pooled across its sites, with overage at $0.05 per GB. Uploads, SFTP activity and email transfer are outside that measured web traffic. Actual charges can change with stored data, databases, optional services and bandwidth. Email accounts have no per-account fee, although their storage is billed at the ordinary storage rate. The hosting runs on NVMe servers and uses an in-house panel. Sites can start on a testing domain and later use a custom domain. A Let's Encrypt TLS certificate can be enabled without a certificate fee. NodeHost operates its own servers, offers support by email and its support community, and uses renewable energy and carbon offsets. Its service-level agreement states 99.99% uptime and may provide account credit following downtime. Payments are nonrefundable. Canadian sales tax is added according to the account's billing province or territory.

📄 Editorial Review

NodeHost is a Canadian web hosting provider based in Penticton, British Columbia, operating since 2015. The service is part of LAMM Creative Solutions (lammcs.ca), a Penticton technology business with roots going back to 2011. Anthony Rossbach has been closely associated with NodeHost since its early development and operation.

NodeHost has always followed a somewhat different model from conventional mass-market shared hosting. Its platform was created around smaller hosting environments, automated provisioning, flexible resource allocation, and granular billing rather than large fixed hosting packages. This approach works particularly well for developers, WordPress users, smaller PHP applications, test projects, personal sites, and customers who do not need the resources of a traditional VPS.

The main service is Linux Web Hosting, with strong support for PHP applications and WordPress. The hosting stack has historically combined NGINX for static content with Apache for PHP applications and .htaccess compatibility, keeping compatibility with common WordPress and PHP software while benefiting from NGINX for static delivery.

NodeHost also provides the supporting services needed around normal website hosting, including DNS, databases, SSL/TLS, email handling, domains, and website management. Email can be received through the NodeHost environment, while customers requiring more advanced outbound delivery can combine the service with an external SMTP provider.

Security has been part of the platform from its early years. NodeHost introduced two-step login protection in 2016 and later continued simplifying authentication and account security around its own management interface.

A major technical change took place during 2023 and 2024, when NodeHost rebuilt significant parts of its hosting platform and introduced a new generation of its proprietary management panel. This gives the service a more integrated structure than traditional shared hosting accounts assembled around third-party control panels.

NodeHost is primarily aimed at customers who want straightforward website hosting without maintaining a complete VPS. It is particularly suitable for WordPress, PHP applications, development projects, static websites, small business sites, and lightweight personal projects.

The website and customer environment are available in English.
