📄 Editorial Review
InternetHosting.com is a long-established North American web hosting and Internet-services provider operating since 1997. The company maintains a presence in both the United States and Canada, with addresses in Niagara Falls, New York, and Victoria, British Columbia.
Its service range is built primarily around Shared Hosting, Domain Registration, Email, SSL Certificates, Website Design, Mobile Website services, Fax-to-Email and bundled online-business solutions. The company is focused on conventional website and email hosting rather than VPS, cloud-server or dedicated-server infrastructure.
Shared hosting is divided into Starter, Standard and Professional packages. Starter is suitable for relatively basic websites and email, while Standard and Professional introduce a much broader collection of administration, database, development and backup features.
Email is an important component of the hosting packages. Starter includes 23 email addresses, Standard 30 and Professional 45, with mailboxes of up to 1 GB. Available mail functionality includes IMAP/IMAPS, POP3, SMTP/SMTPS, webmail, aliases, catch-all addresses, autoresponders, spam filtering and virus protection. Standard and Professional also include email-blast functionality.
Domain and website management include DNS controls, domain locking, URL forwarding, email forwarding and parking functions. Standard and Professional provide FTP management, file restoration, database administration, phpMyAdmin, web statistics, .htaccess management, SSH, MySQL administration and SSL management. Hourly backups are included with these higher-level packages.
Application support includes WordPress, Joomla, PHP, MySQL, Perl and CGI. The Professional package also supports a range of older Microsoft and application technologies, including ASP, ASP.NET, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, JSP, ColdFusion and Real Audio/Video, with some functionality carrying additional charges. This makes the service potentially useful for maintaining legacy applications, although new deployments should confirm current software versions before committing to a specific technology stack.
Website creation is available alongside hosting. Custom five-page HTML websites start at $499 or $49 per month, including consultation, copywriting and royalty-free imagery. E-commerce development is also available.
DIY website tools provide templates, blogging, social-media integration, site-promotion tools, forms, calendars, image utilities and related functions. Mobile website services are also available.
The company continues to offer a comparatively unusual Fax-to-Email service. Faxwire 300 includes up to 300 pages, Faxwire 500 covers 500 pages and Faxwire 1000 covers 1,000 pages. Each package includes a toll-free fax number, with incoming faxes delivered as PDF attachments by email. Fax transmission supports common formats such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF.
Several business bundles combine hosting with related services. The Total Online & Social Business Solution combines a domain, hosting, website design, email marketing, fax-to-email and website/social-media updates. Other packages combine hosting with website design, email marketing and ongoing website or social-media maintenance.
Domain registration covers a very large selection of generic and country-code extensions. Common extensions such as .com, .net and .org are available alongside many newer TLDs. The company works within the established ICANN registrar ecosystem, while the internethosting.com domain itself is registered through eNom.
The main service is intended for English-speaking customers, while the separate webmail interface supports multiple languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Croatian, Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Romanian, Hungarian, Swedish, Bulgarian, Danish, Albanian and Norwegian. Product pricing is in US dollars.
The company retains a distinctly traditional hosting approach. Some of the available technologies and terminology, including Flash-related services, FrontPage Manager, Real Audio/Video and separately managed mobile websites, belong to an earlier generation of web hosting. This can still be useful for legacy workloads, although customers building a new project will generally be more interested in the PHP, MySQL, WordPress, SSL, email and backup features.
