Managers at ServerADay say that the company has closed more than 250 orders and is on target to reach 300 sales by the end of the year, double its original goal of 150 server sales. The company has also begun provisioning capacity for an additional 1,000 servers in its Stratford, Connecticut data center, to be ready in early January 2008. By Q3, the company hopes to have capacity reach for an additional 3,000 servers.
"It has proven to be phenomenally successful, beyond all of our predictions," says Chris Silkman, business manager at OLM.net. "The site has been online for just over two months and we have received an incredibly strong response from developers and small businesses who want to affordably make the transition to a dedicated server."
ServerADay, which is modeled after the deal-a-day retail sales sites, provides limited-quantity offers on dedicated servers. A new offer is posted nightly at 12:01 am local time and once an offer expires or sells out, it is no longer available to customers. Dedicated servers featured on the site are typically excess stock or upgraded servers from OLM.net's data centers.
OLM.net launched ServerADay in October.
