), a US-based global provider of cloud hosting services with 9 data centers delivering its services to around 800,000 developers worldwide, has released its new Linux cloud instance type: Linode Dedicated CPU. This ‘Dedicated CPU' would provide a powerful infrastructure solution for CPU-intensive applications such as video encoding, machine learning and data analytics processing.

Developers would be able to deploy a Linode dedicated instance in just a few seconds with minimal configuration. The free upgrade significantly accelerates server performance, accommodates alternate operating system, and improves boot times.

KVM (in tandem with QEMU) is an alternative to the popular Xen virtualization software that Linode has been using since 2008. KVM has far less overhead, thereby improving virtual machine performance.
