Feb 8, 2019 - Within a short period of time, Germany-headquartered data center owner/operator maincubes has rolled out two ‘German-engineered' colocation facilities across Europe. What it means to be German-engineered? Part of German construction conglomerate Zech Group, maincubes opened its very first European data center in Frankfurt, Germany in October 2017. Their facilities in Frankfurt, Germany (FRA01) and Amsterdam Schiphol-Rijk, the Netherlands (AMS01) are entitled as ‘German-engineered' by the company itself, but what does it mean exactly, being ‘German-engineered?

Dec 19, 2018 - Data Center Company maincubes Joins Dutch Hosting Provider Association - maincubes did a 10 million euro investment in Amsterdam AMS01 to have the acquired data center being transformed into a fully modernized facility meeting the ‘German-engineered' maincubes standards. The use of Free Cooling results in an energy efficient PUE value of 1.37. An example of German solidness in Amsterdam can also be found in the design of maincubes' generator infrastructure, which has an N+1+1 setup.
