Sep 7, 2010 : GreenQloud Partners with Nimsoft

📅 - GreenQloud will provide Unified Monitoring for carbon-neutral Infrastructure-as-a-Service offering.

Nimsoft, a provider of unified monitoring solutions, today announced that GreenQloud, a green public cloud computing service, has selected the Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS) to provide clients with 24x7 visibility into its unique carbon-neutral compute cloud. The company says that as an integrated component of GreenQloud's Truly Green Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering, NMS will deliver comprehensive, intuitive monitoring of clients' critical applications, systems and network resources via customized portals.

It explains that GreenQloud's Truly Green service takes advantage of Iceland's hydro and geothermal energy sources-as well as its cool climate-to drastically reduce carbon emissions associated with powering and cooling IT infrastructure. This enables clients to reduce IT-related energy costs and get relief from the growing tax burdens now being levied for carbon emissions. By implementing NMS, GreenQloud will be able to combine its 'Green IT' value proposition with state-of-the-art cloud resource monitoring.

The company mentions that NMS integrates seamlessly with the Truly Green cloud and supports GreenQloud's pay-per-use pricing model. NMS also enables GreenQloud to offer clients a flexible set of monitoring options ranging from a baseline package to a variety of premium add-ons.

"It is very rewarding to have NMS recognized by an industry leader like GreenQloud as the top solution for providing IaaS clients with secure, adaptable visibility into their pay-per-use cloud resources," said Gary Read, Nimsoft CEO. "We are particularly excited about the opportunity to support a partner that is tackling the very critical and timely issue of Green IT."

"Clients are very interested in becoming more environmentally responsible when it comes to IT, but they certainly don't want to achieve that responsibility at the cost of service quality or peace of mind," said Eirikur Hrafnsson, CEO and Co-founder of GreenQloud. "With Nimsoft, we are complementing our best-of-the-best energy model with best-of-the-best monitoring capabilities."
