Sep 11, 2008 : CRG West Appoints CTO

📅 -   Colocation service provider CRG West (http://www.crgwest.com) announced on Wednesday that John Savageau has been promoted its chief technology officer.

In this new role, Savageau will focus on growing CRG West's peering offerings and its ICT infrastructure.

Savageau previously held the position of managing director, where he was "instrumental in CRG West's forward-thinking growth and development," says the company in its most recent announcement.

"We are pleased that John has accepted the role of CTO. John has led CRG West's advances and development in technology since he joined the company and will lead us further as we expand our offerings and capabilities with regard to peering, cloud computing, and other customer-facing applications. Further, John will continue to lead all areas of the company's ICT operations," says Thomas M. Ray, president and CEO of CRG West. "This targeted role enables John to further capitalize on his passion to make the world's information and communication technology more accessible and efficient."

The company says Savageau has been a key player in CRG West's expansion from two data centers on the west coast to its current footprint of eleven data centers in seven metropolitan areas across the US.

Savageau also created CRG West's Any2 Exchange platform, led the development of the company's branch-circuit monitoring system and its online customer resource center.

Prior to joining CRG West, Savageau was CEO of MagicNet in Mongolia where he led Internet infrastructure development and provided data solutions to the rapidly growing mining industry. He has also held leadership positions at Pihana Pacific and Level 3 International.

In July, the colocation service provider announced it will be building a new data center campus in Santa Clara, expected to be available in the second quarter of 2009.
