Very bad experience

I have been in the IT market since 1995, so: I am not a newbie. Some weeks ago, I decided to move some of my personal domains to gandi.net to test their services. I was quite optimistic and enthusiast, because of their services (lots of rare extensions), and their catch-phrase "no bullshit". Well, my experience was and it is still awful. To be kind.

Their customer service does not exist. You will always have to wait from 12 to 36 hours (up to 20... days!) to get an answer (about very easy topic, such as renewal duration, offers…), and you can consider yourself lucky if you receive a standard reply. It is not possible to manage any support request nor change/add anything. Just send an email and wait.

That’s not all. As soon as they registered my first domain I lost my privacy whois. It’s quite incredible because with that national authority, the privacy feature is set by default! I asked why that had happened and I simply got no answer for weeks. In the meanwhile, the domain was not even in my gandi-panel, therefore I couldn't do anything except contacting them, and wait, wait, wait.

Talking about the managing panel. Honestly, it is quite awkward, you have to learn how to deal with it and how to manage their weird “handle” system. Furthermore, in the whois data they use your account username (not a very good think, talking about security).

To sum up, I would say: they have a wide range of services. If you don’t have any problem you could probably be a happy customer, but when the problems start you will be left alone for days, and you can loose a lot of money due to that. They have some interesting feature, but a shameful concept of customer care/service. Many other competitors such as internet.bs offer better service with better prices.

Therefore: go elsewhere.
