Started off ok, but support was practically useless.

But then around April 23 they claim they hit by a malicious attack. And since then, it's been horribly terrible.

All windows hosting servers were brought offline. My 16 sites were down for a week. A WEEK! When they finally came back up, I discovered that the database was replaced with a backup OVER TWO MONTHS OLD! Their SQL Server had over 2,400 databases on it, and everyone lost TWO MONTHS OF DATA.

For the last 4 days it has been a complete nightmare there. NO support tickets are getting any replies. I had one simply deleted. FTP does not work. I cannot access my files. The control panel is very slow. How slow? You click on a page, and have to wait 15 minutes to hours. HOURS?!?!?! Yes. It's completely unusable.

During this last almost week of hell, where months of data is gone, files are inaccessible, Plesk is unusable, support is silent, there has been no communication between A2 and their customers.

do not trust in any way what they say about 99.9% Uptime the server go down all the time 1 time a week.... we was whit them for 2 years and we always had problems and they dont care at all of what you are loosing..... trust me and avoid this provider

I can not be more happy, I discovered a2hosting by accident searching for good hosting in europe, or usa with good ping to my internet provider network.
looked at the plans and decided for one wich i subscribed for 3 years, than after less than 24 hours, i realized it altough it has great features, it was not enough for what I was looking for. and asked for a refund. without a question why, the refund was payed in full, and i kept my account in a2hosting with no products. next month I searched again for what I was looking for and found a VPS with enough features just to realize my plans, this time subscribed for just a year. tooking advantage of blak friday promotions, with a certan that whenever I didnt like the plan, i could ask for a refund.
So far my satisfaction with a2hosting is 10/10 the server i choosed in amsterdam is even faster with a latency lower than i expected... and its a breeze to work with this server. even better than if I had installed the webserver in my own [lee mas...]

Good Support, They respond to my questions and requests in only a few minutes and gives me direct and professional answers. I recently requested to change my primary domain name and to cancel the old domain of a reseller hosting account. They responded in a few minutes, just asking for my support pin and the changes were made instantly. There were no extra costs and my new domain was quickly available. I have never had any issues with their support. All my sites have at least a 99.94% uptime, monitored with uptime robot. Their overall pricing is not bad, and they offer one of the best support for hosting websites.

After using GoDaddy, Namecheap, HostGator, Linode, Dreamhost, the list goes on and on, I finally found the perfect webhost!!! They offer your usual cPanel hosting platform but the big winner is their customer service. They reply quick and get the job done. I am so glad I switched from BlueHost to A2. My sites got hacked when I was at BlueHost and all the company did was refer me to their "partner" SiteLock, a totally disreputable company whose solution is to charge an arm and a leg for monthly service that other companies provide for far less. They are incredibly aggressive in trying to get your business. It wouldn't surprise me if SiteLock, which scans all BlueHost sites whether you want them to or not, is the one that hacked my sites in the first place.

That's why I moved to A2. My sites have been hacked repeatedly, probably through the same security hole that is now fixed. Each time, A2 did a scan, provided helpful suggestions, AND got the sites up and running again, something BlueHost couldn't be bothered to do.

By the way, A2 partners with Sucuri, a much more reputable company. But they don't promote them like BlueHost does SiteLock. Instead, they are objective and helpful.

I'm giving A2 5 stars because I'm so impressed [lee mas...]

One of the fastest Web Hosting, the sites are faster even without integration of Cloudflare.
Time to First Byte (TFB) was on average 0.400 millisecs, which is less than half a second.

I had been with web hosting for more than a decade, never seen such great speeds.
A2 Hosting superb and excellent support and technical teams are always on the bleeding edge.
They even allow multiple 3rd party and Let's Encrypt SSL certificates on addon domains for Shared plan as well.
This is not the case with other Big Hosting companies.
A2 hosting's cpanel is fast and awesome.

I always recommend A2 Hosting for any serious Web Hosting Aspirants and Businesses.

I switched from another hosting company a few months ago, put a lot of time into it, now much to my regret. The A2hosting server is CONSTANTLY down and they can't fix it for hours at a time. Here is a typical status message (see the attachment):

"a2ss54.a2hosting.com is currently experiencing a service interruption. Users hosted on this server will experience service degradation as a result. Our System Operations team is investigating the root cause of this interruption. We will provide updates as more details are made available."

I am now looking for another hosting company. What a pain. Don't waste your time with a2hosting.com. They appear to have leveraged these high ratings to get business that they can't handle.

Although A2-Hosting said it may take a few days for the migration of files they did the migration in less than 1 hour. Support questions are answered blinding fast. Just switched from Hostgator who I was with for a hot second before realizing these folks not only don't care, but know absolutely nothing about the service they provide.

I'm running a pretty intricate membership site what sucks php memory like an out of control vacuum cleaner and these guys reinstalled apache, installed php 7 and a few other tweaks that completely solved the issues. GREAT work. Three times we've needed serious tech support and they've come through three times 100%.

This is my second attempt to transfer my site to another hosting service. The first was actually a failure. Their support instead of doing the job, they keep on sending me tutorials to resolve problems along the way. I was so much involved in the process, yet the migration failed and I asked for a refund. Due to that experience, I was really thinking that site migration was so complicated and it is subject to failures.

I was a so surprised with the flawless site migration of A2Hosting. Since I submitted the ticket, they only communicated with me once when they asked me to identify and delete files in the existing server since the total size exceeded the allowable size to perform a backup file necessary for the migration. When large files were removed, the next message from A2Hosting was the information that the migration was completed, and it was just in one day.

Avoid!
Never had a worse experience with a hosting company.

Their servers cannot mitigate basic DDoS attacks and because of that they go down at least once a week. Since they are attacked so often and know their servers cannot handle it, they exclude DDoS from their 99% uptime guarantee.

Customer support is absolutely abysmal. I've been hung up on numerous times by kids (they sound 15, usually) who were clearly having a bad day before I called. Probably from dealing with 100s of people all complaining about their sites being down; it's that common.

If you buy managed VPS, they will expect you to manage your own server while still paying the premium for a managed VPS. This is laughable at best.

Their $120/mo VPS performance is really no different than say a $10/mo shared plan. In fact, I'm 99% sure I was seeing better performance on a $10/mo eHost shared plan.

Lastly, I don't know if this is related to A2 or not, but since I moved my site to their servers my bounce rate [lee mas...]

Using a2hosting service I get quality SSD hosting which is cheap, reliable and simple to navigate around.
Servers work with no downtime. They take a good care of all of their customers.

Cpanel - ok.

customer service - good until you experience some issues. Then all you get is delayed responses and no fixing.

Uptime - They have this 100 Mb CPU limit that won´t even allow you to run a regular back up of a WP site of about 20 mb DB without crippling the process mid way thus rendering the back up impossible. Also, once you hit the CPU limit your site goes down.

tech support - what tech support? The one that tell you that you need to buy a better plan to handle traffic even though you just only started installing WP ? :)

conclusion - AVOID.

Hi,
I used 3IX and Greengeeks before switching to A2Hosting. We are very happy with the service, we usually get about 1hr/month scheduled downtime but occasionally we've had more (3hrs in Jan '12) but I think one should expect that on a shared hosting service.
When we have had issues their support team has been very helpful and usually resolved the problem in minutes.
The service has extra benefits compared to some in that we have ssh access and they run weekly backups.
All this for a few dollars per month, I can't complain.

Normally i dont reply negative feedbacks for anybody but a2 is deserve it, many times i worked with many hosting services but i never live anything like this. After buying a new domain and hosting service from a2 i wait for 1 day to be activated and tried to contact the a2 hosting staff, but they didnt answer my tickets and after 20 try i could reach someone from online chat and than he said me to wait for 24 hours more, ok i said and waited for another 24 hours than nothing again, back to live chat again, they said me i have a billing problem, i gave the transaction confirmation id and they said that i have to wait for monday to issue solved than i said i want my money back, than bought my hosting and domain from another hosting, after this they send me a welcome mail that contains the domain i bought from another web hosting service, and still dont want to refund me, if you work with a2 web hosting think it twice, they are not customer friendly and they are not [lee mas...]

Hi, I've just moved to A2hosting after bad experience at 3ix.com and greengeeks.com. So far everything is going well with no down time. The support staff moved my site from greengeeks and it was all up in a few hours. I had one minor problem with a php script sending email due to config difference between previous hosting service and a2hosting. A2hosting were extremely helpful in resolving this by adding PEAR smtp module to their servers. Thanks a2.

Our customer service experience from A2hosting was extremely terrible and the Technical Support guys we spoke with, to seek assistance were so rude. They didn't even make us feel comfortable when we tried to seek help for some Technical Issues. Other than that, one of the Tecnical Support guys told us to Upgrade to one of their packages which was alot expensive than how much we were currently paying instead of making a better solution and just simply resolve the issue we were calling about.

If we would try to evaluate the way they treated us, being their customers, they never meant to cater customer's needs and never made us feel satisfied and the Technical Support guys made us feel like they were so busy to assist us while our website was in "Suspended" status without even giving us any warning or alert about it beforehand.

It should've been alright if they let us experience such situation if only they tried to help us resolve the issue but not even something close to that [lee mas...]

Their servers are fully-redundant, scalable and flexible, control panel is usable and has web master-friendly interface, prices are hot high and their discounts are nice and help to save some finds.
Support works around the clock.
Servers have no outages.
Uptime is high.
Recommend them to use for those who want to be successful in the IT industry.

I was with A2Hosting for 1 days, why? Here is my personal experience. The took about 8+ hours to get my account activated. When I got my email notice my account was up I logged in and then their server went down for several hours. I have up trying to log back in after 4hours. I closed my account down for their 30 day money back guarantee and I was returned my money less $15. So I did not get a fully refund. I will be taking this matter up with VISA as I have all the email to verify my complaint with A2Hosting full refund policy.

Many times accounts need a manual intervention to protect our client's identity when they are signed up. I apologize that this process took longer than normal, but we would love to have won back your service, especially since you only stuck around for a day.

tech support - just close tickets without investigation into fault.

conclusion - AVOID.

I'm extremely sorry that you had such an poor experience with our hosting. Our customers always have the best things to say about our support team, so it is extremely troubling that you were so unimpressed with our hosting. Our servers have all been updated so the chance of experiencing anything but a 99.9% uptime is extremely remote.

My experience with A2 Hosting

I am extremely disappointed with their hosting and appalled at their lack of support. I started hosting with A2 Hosting in December 2007. My first registered support request was March 3rd, 2008.

My problem was my website went down several times a week, although the down time was only a matter of minutes each time, I quickly became concerned about the constant problems I was having with A2 hosting.

The support was terrible, they constantly deny the problems and even on one occasion claimed it was a problem with my website. Over a year I couldn't even tell you how many times my website went down, because it was only down for a few minutes I couldn't submit a support ticket fast enough to prove to them there was a problem. They claimed they had 24/7 monitoring and they didn't see any problem.

In April of 2009 I decided I would add my own external monitoring service, here are my results in the first week alone:

I have been dealing with a2hosting for more than a year and I should say that I am happy using its hosting services. It is probably in a pretty high percentile for hosting quality … These guys provide reliable hosting and decent quality. Almost everyone is checked when going through the buy section so when you look at your confirmation before you buy something, you may have a lot of extra features you never wanted before. The pricing for their services are affordable. Granted, there are cheaper solutions out there, but server reliability and customer service are great. Overall my experience is very good with them. I wanna thank its team for providing me with good services.

I would like to express my point of view about A2hosting.com services. I have been using their services for about 10 months and I always have fast speed connection and my web site is steadily online. It happened so that I have found out the availability of their systems administrator and sent them a support ticket and they responded me in a minute. I am sure that when it comes to hosting, it is better to go for the time-tested and trusted brands in the hosting services market like this company. It is flexible, so I can look at the availability of hosting services that will satisfy all my requirements. I should say that prices are not very high. One more important fact has to be mentioned that I have never had down time of my site during the whole period I have been using their services.

This host is a developer's dream as they have most web languages available and updated. PHP extensions can be installed on demand almost instantly thanks to their prompt live support service (applies to all packages, even cheap ones).

My only wish is that they should allow more than one subdomain for their cheapest package, as well as offer real discount prices for domains when getting registration + hosting ($12.95 for a .com with hosting isn't cool).
