The new Cloud Servers – as well as the established configurations – have no minimum contract time and offer minute-based billing of the resources used, high-performance brand hardware as well as full flexibility. Even the entry level package, starting at a price of £4.99/month+VAT, offers a full performance scope including numerous integrated features such as unlimited traffic, integrated SSD storage and a load balancer. With the configuration S, 1&1 introduces a cloud server for testing environments: tests and applications which only need a limited amount of resources are optimally stored in the cloud – priced at £4.99/month+VAT. Customers benefit from the full feature set, while paying a very low entry price. Customers that need complex and performance-intensive applications can use larger packages with particularly high-performance: the configurations 3XL, 4XL and 5XL enable customers to host even bigger projects at a monthly fixed price – best performance guaranteed. The area of use cases ranges from hosting web portals to comprehensive database operations. Moreover, media streaming can be operated easily within the cloud with the 3XL package, and the 5XL Cloud Server is ideal for applications with complex data processing.

The Application Programming Interface (API) of the 1&1 Cloud Server is useful to administrate big server packages. Customers working with a large number of virtual machines have the option to manage their servers via the API interface. Especially if the 1&1 Cloud Server is integrated within an existing IT infrastructure, the API interface facilitates the administration, and commands and policies can be entered conveniently.
