😠 Singlehop used to be a best company until they were acquired by inap. I have been sending them tickets for ages and got no reply. They seem to have a chatbox on their website but that's bot with some stupid predefined questions. After 10+ tries, I got connected to a person on live chat. I told him that I'll be cancelling server for such support and he replied -> "That's a nice idea". Like wowwww, how can they talk to someone like this who is hosting servers with them for more than 8 years lol. Anyhow I advise you all to stay away if you love you clients!

😠 If you research, you will see that SingleHope hosts a lot of spam and scam websites. Lots of people receive spam emails from them, their affilliates and people they sell services too.
One of those people are Nigerian scammers. I sent them a notice and they ignore them. They could care less about all the illegal activities on their servers.

I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews of SingleHop. Yes, you need to think a week ahead before you cancel your server. You need to purchase support if you want it. When I had it, it was very good. They even gave me support without purchasing it, at first. Their network is fast, their dedicated machines are good, and their Plesk setup is very good. When I get their server, I typically only need to fix 1 or 2 things before everything is ready. At OTHER providers, I've had to spend 1 or 2 DAYS before things were working and another 2 WEEKS before I was able to fix the problems with the provider setup. At SingleHop, almost everything works fine.
Problem: They've given me servers with dirty, blacklisted IPs. That took some time to fix. It was annoying and I expressed to them that I think they should clean them before handing them to a new customer. This is no worse than other providers but I want to note that it happened here. Other than that, Perfect!

Green & Eco-Friendly Hosting
Though SingleHop isn't a major conglomerate, we feel a genuine responsibility to do our part in reducing power usage and greenhouse gases.
Data center energy usage doubled from the year 2000-2006. It is now predicted that energy usage for data centers will double again to 100 billion kilowatt-hours, costing $7.4 billion annually. Even more distressing, is that the peak load on the present power grid for data center is approximately 7 gigawatts, equaling 15 baseload power plants. If the current trend continues, demand will rise to 12GW by 2011 requiring an additional 10 power plants, meaning that in the next five years, possibly 90% of companies will have service interruptions due to power grid overloads.
Though this may seem an odd concern for a web hosting company, it is a truly significant environmental issue. An EPA report on data centers, presented to the U.S. Congress in 2006 presented both hopeful and disturbing figures. In 2006, data centers in the United States alone used 60 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. That is 1.5% of all US electricity consumption. They use more electricity than the state of Mississippi, as well as 19 other states , and use a similar amount of energy used by approximately 5.8 million combined US households (5% of US housing stock).
Furthermore, our servers are largely lead free, halogen free, and mercury free, reducing water contamination, chemical and solid wastes, and emissions, both from us and during the production of these servers. We even do the little things that still make a difference, like recycle all parts that are disposed of and recycle our boxes and garbage.

Our main Chicago data center, what we generally refer to as DC1, houses over 2,000 dedicated servers for over 1,000 customers around the world. DC1 features redundant N+1 power, HVAC, and top-of-the-line networking facilities.
Data Center 2: DFT
SingleHop's latest data center location, nicknamed DC2, features ultra-redundant power, HVAC, and networking systems with no single point of failure. The building features over 200,000 square feet of raised-floor computing space; SingleHop currently has 10,000 Sqft of computing space in this location.

The SingleHop network is powered by a high-speed Cisco core, with an emphasis on stability and redundancy. As a Chicago Dedicated Server provider, we have access to multiple major bandwidth providers, and have contracts with many of them to provide the best speed and uptime to our customers. High-speed Cisco cabinet switches connect into multiple cores to provide redundant paths to all customer servers, eliminating many downtime issues due to core maintenance.
Leveraging custom-developed automation tools, the SingleHop network is able to rapidly respond to changes in network conditions, and quickly update customer configurations to provide a superior level of service.
We at SingleHop have anticipated and are doing our part to reverse this trend. Our policies are already in line with EPA suggestions for improving energy usage in hosting companies. We have always purchased only power efficient hardware. While the EPA cites a typical server having a processor requiring 80 watts at peak power, our dual processor D-L5310 uses only 40 watts. Also, the EPA states that an average rack of servers uses around 20kW of power. Ours average around 12.6 kW. Our servers are all low-voltage and power efficient, reducing our carbon footprint. Also, cooling, on average, accounts for 50% of electricity usage in data centers. Hot spots in data centers can disrupt service. Our data center is engineered in a cold aisle/hot aisle configuration, which results in the need for less cooling and virtually eliminates hot spots. Also important to note, is that our power efficiency is key to our service uptime guarantee. By our strategic engineering of our data center and our use of low voltage servers, our lower energy usage prevents power overload and service interruptions. This is absolutely vital. Data centers are an integral part of our modern society in the digital age. Data centers and dedicated servers are now used to store medical records, governmental records, and are an important feature of many businesses. Our power outage prevention measures ensure that these records are always accessible, allowing public services and businesses to function more efficiently and effectively.

😠 Leap Away from Single Hop!
I just want to say that Single Hop is one of the worst companies that I have ever dealt with in years. I have dealt with many. They have the Reseller Tandem control panel with the worst interface imaginable. The servers that you get are a rip off and they will cut your service off even if you have solved all of the problems on the network.
Also, they complain about not getting paid when it’s only been 4 days and you have been with them for almost 2 years. They also send a massive amount of tickets so that they don’t cancel the server and actually do work. You have to treat them like children or they won’t do any simple billing tasks. Support is fine but sales/billing is a joke.
They allow abuse too. I had a ROSKO spammer on their network and I have taken care of the issue but they have allowed this for months. They cut the amount of ips to 5 per a server and they still want to kick me out even though everything is fine now!
They also said that I had a 90% churn rate(servers [read more...]

When my money ran short I went to cancel my service and they told me that I had to give 3 days notice before my next invoice was due. It was not due for two more days and they told me I had to pay them for the next month of service even if I was not going to be using it. They said if I did not pay for another month of service I would be turned over to collections for non-payment. So do Not get hosting from these cons unless you want to be bullied and ripped off!

😠 This is he worst host ever! they went down twice in three months with no warning and no backup, they claimed they were redoing their set up but the server we were on was completely canceled, he uses other servers and pretends they are his, he has no customer service and no support, he did however have time to post a few comments on web forums while we were all waiting for the server to magically reappear, however to no avail everything was lost and no money was refunded a complete fraud and a waste of time and money.

This is Wes. I was a good friend of Kurt's and I worked for him part time building websites. Mr Tanner was the sole owner of Isotech Systems and aside from a small hand full of employees, he basically ran the whole business himself.
Mr. Tanner has passed away. His 8 yr old daughter passed about a month ago due to complications from surgery and he took his own life shortly thereafter.

I bought a reseller account from isotechhosting.com. I suspect isotechhosting.com and jkookserv.com have a same owner. Now isotechhosting.com disappeared and all my websites are down. I got this e-mail from isotechhosting.com. Please check it.

😁 Fantastic customer service and control panel, very easy to submit support tickets and fast response. Server performance is top notch. Could be a little cheaper but compensated by customer service and easy site interaction.

😁 I just signed up with site hop yesterday. They had my server up and running within the hour. As well, today I made a bad mistake on the server, and had to enter a support ticket. They responded very quickly, and just as quickly took care of the problem for me. Overall, I cant speak to the long term value in this company, but so far i'm very impressed.
