I did a lot of research on this company before doing business with them. As I sit here today, I wish I had done more. This company is a typical example of the saying, "you get what you pay for".

I made the mistake of thinking that if the company had cPanel and WHM, then it must be just as good as their competition companies that provide the same cPanel/WHM service. How wrong I was!

1. On my first .ph domain, I made the mistake of buying my domain through the hosting company rather than directly from the registrar. This was a huge mistake. What they don't bother to tell you is that if you buy your domain through them, you lose the ability to manage your own domain information, which means that you have to wait for their company to make any changes you need regarding YOUR domain. I found the fact that they didn't bother to mention this when I bought the domain unprofessional at best, and deceitful at worst. (In fairness, the registrar told me that they might be in the process of changing this in the near future, but I have seen no evidence of this to date).

2. Within the first two weeks of doing business with them, they had some kind of "technical difficulty" that required them to change all of my hosting information without my authorization. All of my sites went offline until I noticed there was a problem. They did send me an email about it, but I had no idea that my sites and those of my clients would all go offline because of some internal problems they were having.

3. By the third month, I happened to notice in my PayPal account that they took it upon themselves to cancel my subscription without any discussion with me. I sent them an email about it. In their initial response, they told me that they weren't doing subscriptions anymore, and cited an announcement they put out about a new procedure they implemented. Since the ability to do a subscription was one of the reasons I did business with them in the first place, it was only after I told them that if their decision to cancel my subscription was final, they would lose my business that they responded with an email telling me that they had made a mistake, and that I needed to go through the process of setting up a subscription again.

4. More recently, I was having problems installing multiple instances of Wordpress within the same domain (something that requires a simple setting change in one file on every other cPanel/WHM server in the world). Their so-called support told me that this had nothing to do with them, so I paid a trouble-shooter from America $100 (bringing up my net hosting cost considerably) to trouble-shoot the problem. He determined that the hosting company had several settings wrong on the server side. I tried to contact support several times through the chat function available on their website. No one ever answers. I called their so-called 24/7 phone number several times. No answer... EVER. When I finally got someone on the phone, it was a little after 9:00 AM Philippines time, but that rude individual ("Maribell"?) still has no idea what my problem is because every time I tried to tell her what was wrong, she interrupted me, talked over me and wouldn't listen to anything I had to say. Instead, she seemed only interested in telling me how great their service was, apparently oblivious to the fact that she was proving with every word that their service wasn't service at all. I sent an email outlining my problem to their sales and support emails, and was responded to by John Osena, who apparently owns the company and is apparently trying to run it while working for another company in Canada. (I guess he's not making enough money to survive in the hosting business, and needs to get a real job in Canada to be able to pay his bills. Seeing how bad the service is, I can't say that I blame him.) After responding twice about a minor issue unrelated to the main problem, John stopped responding to my attempts at getting to the root of the problem so that we could get it resolved.

In short, it appears that unless you have a very simple website, these people are completely incapable and/or unwilling to provide the services they claim to provide. Their support people are rude and inconsiderate, and apparently incompetent beyond basic hosting issues.

If you have a need for basic hosting, and are willing to sacrifice professional support services for a cheap price, then this company is probably OK. However, if you need any help beyond basic support questions, or if you need support in a timely manner and are unwilling or unable to wait for them to get around to your question whenever they feel like it, be warned; you need to look elsewhere, because Web.com.ph is COMPLETELY incapable and/or unwilling to do what they promise!

BUYER BEWARE! Web.com.ph is a SCAM!
