I have had two websites hosted on ucv for many years.

Conditions have finally reached the point where we must part ways. I will be moving my hosting presently.

I have experienced a spotty history with UCV.

Either or both sites would go down for an unknown period, until I discovered that the site was offline. This has not happened as often lately as previously, but it is still too common. If I am lucky enough to find this when their chat is working, then the site will often be restored in minutes. Otherwise it requires an email to support, which I have discovered just goes to sales.

They have a helpdesk and issue tickets for complaints, but the helpdesk is usually not accessible and I have discovered that they label what I deem critical issues as of low priority. Further, when my issues are finally forwarded to technical support, they are put on hold, probably until I go away because they do not want to or cannot resolve the issue.

I have complained numerous times about email issues. My SMTP server has been labeled as a spam source [by IP address] and my outgoing mail is blocked en route to existing recipients.

Additionally, UCVhost provides a terribly obsolete mail app, smartermail version 5.5. Smartermail is up to version 12. There is no real spam filter on 5.5 and 95 out of 100 incoming emails are spam. Also, I have no control over the spam filter, which doesn't really work anyway. The UCV reports show that there has been no spam received at all.

And lastly, they charged me twice when I last renewed my hosting and their answer was to extend the hosted period for two years instead of one I wanted to pay for. This wouldn't matter much except now I absolutely have to move on to another hosting service and they have effectively robbed me of a year's hosting fees.
