In so far as the ease of use of Moonfruit it is a more than acceptable way to publish a quick web design or copy an existing website design. That being said, at the time of writing this article the copy site feature has been down for the past 3 weeks due to technical upgrades being performed by SiteMaker, of which I might add customers were not informed to begin with. Problems with the upgrades ensued and huge delays in operating the SiteMaker software was the result as well as website downtime. When features like the Copy site function were removed for testing no one was informed it left to customers complaining through forums as Moonfruit does not offer technical support over the phone only via support ticket. The support ticket system can be frustrating - while generally Moonfruit/Sitemaker responds within 48 hours I have personaly never sent a ticket through that has been read its in entirity by the Moonfruit/SiteMaker team, so one query may take 1 week to get the full answer, while no warning, explanation or indication for the resolving of technical issues resulting from upgrades can be given. When contacting Moonfruit/Sitemaker its hard to get a correct answer. To give an example, I wanted to resell their product in Australia and as such I wanted to use an Australian 2LD (.com.au) for websites belonging to my clients a (I am still unaware of whether I can do this). I was told by Moonfruit 'No" they do not host this 2LD, so I wrote another email telling them that they were hosting it for a particular client and I pointed out the example. Their response was that he was a White Lable partner that is why he can host this domain (the response came 4 days after my first enquiry and two days after my second). Instead of contacting moonfruit with another email I just got in touch with their reseller in Australia to see if he could register AUstralian domains thru his moonfruit reseller portal, the answer was yes, but he can only point them at the Moonfruit website. GREAT! So now I need to contact Moonfruit again and find out whether white label partners can host a .com.au website or is it just a one off for the white label partners own website. I can't even begin to think about how I wil write this to them in a way that they will understand because based on past experience the quickest, answer with no thought to the problem is the best answer that you will get from Moonfruit technical support. If you are thinking of becoming a reseller by the way don't! Their prices are BULLSHIT - 600euro per month on the reseller 3 package I was quoted! For this service..Nothanks!
