UNETHICAL BULLIES

I am filing a complaint against Host-99.

We have been with this company for many years. Last week our company credit card was charged $439. We had no idea why and soon realized this company had made an unauthorized charge.

They said the charge was for a year plus an SSL certificate. We told them that we did not need an SSL certificate as we only use PayPal. Furthermore, we elected to pay only one more month with this company. That month was paid via PayPal

We decided to transfer our business to Hostgator- a much more reputable company. They provide free file transfer so the site will stay up.

It was then that we discovered that our files were locked. Host-99 refused to unlock them unless we were willing to pay $439 which was for future service that we were not going to use.

According to them, they sent an email 14-days before initiating the charge. No such email was seen (otherwise we obviously would have acted on it).

Again, NOTHING was past due and we paid an additional month ahead of time to keep things running until a transfer could be made. When I told Clarence at Host-99 that we would not pay for a year that we would not use and that I expected him to unlock our files as our account was paid and up to date he refused. He then hung up the phone on me.

Minutes later PayPal notified us that our one month payment had been returned to us (a refund we did not request). I checked online and discovered that our commerce site was no longer functional. There was a notice that it had been “Shut Down”. This is a main site for a small jewelry company that employs several people.

This type of bullying is simple unacceptable. Their behavior is completely unethical and I would request that I-CANN investigate and take strong action.
This previous customer filed a compliant due to lack of following terms and conditions for their account after 5+ years. Our terms and conditions haven not changed regarding cancellations but yet this customer filed a charge back anyway and even tried to take extreme measures besides filing a complaint.

Without going into specific detail our response was sent to the proper department regarding this compliant and Host 99 was awarded the dispute against the company. The BBB also sided with Host 99 regarding this account.

We feel we honored our service with this customer and we fail to see where this customer was bullied, this is a complete false statement.

Due to privacy policy we cannot show details of this customer but yet the customer later replied to the ticket submitted and quote " I didn't know that I had a time limit. I will get back to you." this was later posted after the complaint was filed.

We are not sure why this review was posted. But Host 99 treats all customers with respect and offer the best possible service.
