Web Drive Acquires Openhost - New-Zealand-based Web hosting provider Web Drive (webdrive.co.nz) announced on Friday it has acquired the Web hosting and domain name business of Openhost (openhost.co.nz).
Openhost, which is less than 18 months old, was started in 2005 and has quickly grown to become a leading provider in New Zealand's discount hosting market, says Web Drive. The acquisition means further consolidation of the hosting industry in New Zealand, especially for Web Drive, who acquired the 1,500 customers of Christchurch-based provider Webbase last year."We're very excited about taking over Openhost," says Daniel Williams, managing director of Web Drive.
