Shutdown server right in the middle of a big Sale
If you are a legit business and growing, don't host with VPSLink! You're guaranteed problems. Their service level is about average until you start getting some serious traffic. Right in the middle of a big sale on our ecommerce site, they send the following email:

"Hello,

Our system administrators detected that your server is causing a heavy load on the node, to the extent that this was causing a negative impact on other customers. As a result, we have had to suspend your server. There are two possible causes:

1) You are running a known service or application on your VPS which is responsible for the resource usage. This is not permitted by our terms of service, as we do not allow processes which affect services to other customers. To unsuspend your server, please reply with specific information on the application, and your guarantee you will immediately stop it from using excessive resources. .

Horrible. Don't be sucked in with the low price. It's been problems since I started hosting with them.

Over the long time I've hosted with them, I've seen many, many outages, and received horrid customer support.

Not long ago, their repository went down and they had absolutely no information to offer.

Now, they have disabled both of my accounts, after giving me less than an hour to respond to their request, which, is for me to fax in my government issued photo ID. I called, and of course, they cannot assist me, and I must use the ticket system. I do not have access to a fax machine, and seeing as tomorrow is a public holiday, I will now be experiencing a full 2 days of down time, at the minimum.

I will definitely be switching hosts, I've had it with this company.

Before the recent "migration" from datacenters (I think they migrated to Boston) all was good, after that, sometimes my system was down unexpectedly and the response times from the technical and billing staff are very large, for 20 additional bucks I get my private server with 4 times the RAM I have in VPSLink and not to mention another great things, so the delicated services I had in the VPS have to wait to be migrated to the weekend for minimize the chance of users failures, but guess what? even though I finished my migration and VPS "cleanup" from my info at Sept 11 at 3 AM, their billing system charged me in the first hours of that day, so I'm looking for a refund because the I'm not using the VPS since the migration and I did it in time, but it seems that when it comes to money, they are not capable of be reasonable, they don't want to make any refund since "it is a prepaid service"; anyway 75 USD lost for they stupid policies. I've been a happy customer for a very long time, and have had no problems. However, right after vpslink was bought, problems kept coming in huge packs. Somehow the new billing has lost a payed year of hosting (support was unable to help me). I don't even say about various random downtimes, and a new horrible control panel, that is next to useless.

Fun started when VPSes got blocked due to unpayed bills with no prior notification by email. I couldn't even ask support, as the support console has been locked out too (only creating new tickets was possible, no way to read the answer)!

I had a hard time migrating all my sites to a new host, but even with that, they cannot issue a refund for one of the servers without taking some fee first!

I'm very disappointed with the hosting, that served me excellent for four years.

VPSlink disabled my server due to unspecified "high CPU and disk IO usage", which is supposedly an Acceptable Use Policy violation. (This is despite the fact that they list video encoding -- a highly CPU intensive task -- on their marketing website as a reason to get a Xen server).

This disabling was supposed to be done after I received 24 hour notice via email (far too short in my opinion for such a minor issue). However, VPSlink screwed up, not setting the ticket permissions such that I got the email or could access the ticket.

So, my first "notice" was that my website was disabled. I went into a panic trying to find out what went wrong. (Why did they never call me beforehand? They have my phone number, and I think that's a much quicker and more professional way to know whether I got the message that my server was using too many resources and was about to be disabled.) vpslink.com close my website without notifying me.

Some days ago i registered in vpslink.com and use its vps for hosting my website.
But 8 hours ago, they closed my web service without notifying me because i do not reply them a ticket:

"
Greetings,

Your order has been received and approved. However, we do need a full
address and city entered into the account. Please reply to this email
including your street address and city so we may update our records.
Let us know if you have any questions.

"

In fact, i do not recieve any email to notify this ticket. But they closed my website. They say that i must wait unitl tomorrow morning their bill staff review.

Now, my website is still closed.

I do not known why they did not call me via phone before close my website, why they did such rude things.

Now i have to search for another web hosting service because i do not believe in vpslink.com any more.

I am very upset and I hate them. They make me a great loss.
Our billing staff contacted you before your site was suspended and you failed to reply - if you did not receive a notification by e-mail the contact information which you provided us must not have been valid.

Fraudulent order information is one of the primary concerns which our billing department faces when processing orders - by your description, it sounds as though our billing department detected inaccuracies in the information which you provided when you signed up, gave you notice of their intent to suspend your account if you did not respond, and followed through with their notice when no response was received.

I would be happy to credit your VPSLink account with a month of free service as a gesture of goodwill in light of this misunderstanding if and when you choose to sign up with us again providing that you enter accurate billing and contact information.
