😁 I've been with Vidahost for a while and they're simply fantastic. The support staff seem to always be available which is great for when you've had too much coffee and end up working on your site at 4am. No downtime so far (which is important) and the speed of my site is amazing.
The package I got - the starter one which is the best in my opinion for home users - offers 5 addon domains which I'm currently filling up and 1gb of disk space. I doubt anyone would have enough to fill this up.
Overall I rate them a 10/10 and I'm glad I picked them.

😠 I was with creospace for a few years with no problem (super, affordable, friendly and great British service). But sadly they transferred their hosting in October 2008 to CS New Media.
Creospace knew and also informed CS New Media that I do not want to renew my service after 3rd March 2009 with CS New Media.
My webdomain was up to be till 3rd March. I got an invoice on 3rd February. I told CS New Media (again), that I did not want to renew after 3rd March - what they do - they delete ALL My account and remove my domain from the world wide web!! I told them of this mistake and they reply that they did not know I wanted it up till 3rd March - of course I wanted it up till then as was the agreement till then!
They said they could not help me to put it back up! They refused with excuse to remake an account, if cannot reopen an account and from a backup (surely they do that!) to upload my files for the domain now!
Sheer rubbish service. I am actually glad to be not being with them, [read more...]

😁 I've bought a Starter shared hosting plan with vidahost. It is excellent value for money, especially so compared to other uk hostings. The service is very good and prompt too, and I haven't noticed any downtime (Touch wood!). It probably is more suited to those who know what they are talking about rather than those needing handholding as it is fairly small but the personnel seem enthusiastic. They also sell domain at a reasonable price.
The Starter package (March 2007) is £2.99 a month plus £5 setup and includes 350Mb 25GB monthly transfer with 20 MySQL databases, 5 add-on domains and 5 parked domains, and 10 e-mail accounts, directory passwords, visitor statistics and various other goodies and provides a cpanel interface. Compared to the hell of 123-reg who drove me to seek pastures new this is heaven. The control panel doesn't offer full DNS fiddling but the staff are happy to do this work when asked.
