Smart File....NEVER Answers Billing or Technical Help phone lines or support emails...But you can reach Sales most the time. SmartFile didn't respond to any of my request and then told me I waited to late to cx my service...I would be charged another month.
Just changed to Smart Vault...less money, they answer their phones for CURRENT customers...not just to sell you something! And their help desk actually helps you!
I can not give enough of a warning to not use this company.
Monday: No access to data.
Tuesday: No access to data.
Wednesday: No access to data.
Thursday: No access to data.
How can a data hosting company have this type of downtime? How do you expect your users to run their business? Well, good thing is they don't offer refunds, and they sure do have lots of fun toys for their employees to play with according to their company's Facebook page.
Here's hoping that I actually can get my data back and leave this horrible company.

With this new feature, SmartFile gives administrators new ways to monitor and ensure compliance. Administrators can view past and real time audit data and quickly identify unusual behaviors and outlying events. This can be filtered down to look at the user’s IP address or specific usernames to see the actions that were performed. This helps administrators identify when breach activities are occurring and what accounts are targeted. Reports and data can also be exported for additional business analysis through 3rd party tools.

Smartfile is an adequate FTP provider. I mean, FTP is not exactly cutting edge or difficult to implement. The problem is their horrible support/sales practices. We hadn't been using the service for almost an entire year and so didn't provide them a new credit card for renewal. They renewed on the old card anyway and nearly tripled the price from $360/yr to $1000/yr. I contacted them immediately for a refund and they flatly refused; falsely claiming they had sent repeated notice of the price increase. Do yourself a favor, shop around for a reputable vendor.
I have been using this site for almost a year now and it used to work quite well however, I have been having issue after issue for the last three months or longer and have been trying desperatly to get them resolved as it is negatively affecting our customers who use this site to view and download their documentation. they are upset that it is not available to them. It has been a very frustrating experience to try and get the issues resolved as I have support contact me initally, after I put a support ticket in but then they dont follow through with what they say they are going to do or they use excuses claiming that they are doing upgrades (that were supposed to be available 3 weeks ago and I am still waiting) and NOTHING has changed... I still have all my same issues that I had before! I had done a follow up email to the fellow I was seeking support from asking him what was going on and when I could expect the promise that the upgrades would be complete and my issues would be solved [read more...]
