Customer Service Issue Resolved.
After running into an issue with my account I posted a negative review below. I was promptly contacted by a Registry Web representative who discussed the issue with me and worked together with me to resolve it satisfactorily.

I should have taken more time to discuss the issue with Registry Web before posting my review on this site. I feel the issue was resolved satisfactorily and I appreciate the assistance of the Registry Web associate I worked with.

I'm also a web designer with many domains on behalf of many clients. Was unhappy with the big domain registries and lucky to find registryweb. They've done a lot to help me and their prices are good. The biggest surprise was their quick responses to my questions. Very helpful so far.

One of the better registries.
Have used many domain registries over the years and Registryweb best so far. Can't find anything to complain about, especially their good prices and fast responses.

I have used 4 Registries for 48 domain names, 9 of them at RegistryWeb. RegistryWeb's service, support and prices have been good so I'm gradually switching more domain names over to them.

Don't know what the guy below is on about. Every Registry I have used delays a transfer if you change Registrant details. One of my old Registries also delayed the Transfer to RegistryWeb for 90 days because I had changed the Registrant name before Transfer. So what? 90 days isn't very long!

I RECOMMEND RegistryWeb.

We had to wait recently to unlock and transfer a domain name for 90 days, this is absurd - 90 days after we applied to have the name transfered??

This is beyond ridiculous ... we have over 30 names with over a dozen different registrars and not one has imposed anything remotely as stupid as this .

BEWARE when purchasing with this company

Some people here very tough critics. I had domain with registryweb. Wanted to move it to my web host who give me free domain. Registryweb made it very quick and easy. Good support. Reasonable fees. No problems!

I tripped over this site looking for a web host. I used to register domain names with registryweb and they were always OK. Don't know why they're listed here because they are not a web host. Just domains.

Their website is confusing and difficult to navigate. When you send them an e-mail, you get a form e-mail that may or may not even have anything to do with what you sent them. Worst of all, when your contract ends, you either have to pay to renew or fork over $50 to "terminate." If this was in the contract, obviously it was in very small print buried in thousands of words. They are in Australia, so unfortunately if you live in the U.S. you have no recourse. STAY AWAY!!

DO NOT USE!!!

You will never talk to a person there. They have no customer service. They WILL mess up your billing and account and you will be left hanging to figure it out.

But best of all after you get so fed up with all the crap they put you through they charge you $50 to move the domain you own!

DO NOT USE AND TELL ANYONE EVERYONE ELSE TO AVOID THEM!!!

I paid the $50 for one of my domains and moved to Go Daddy and am very happy. The others are moving now.

I have used BudgetHostingWeb for over five years and they are great. But their RegistryWeb is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! I made the mistake of taking advantage of their promotional $6 a year registration fee a year ago for two nonprofit organizations that I help run. We don't have much money so it seemed like a good deal. Then they JACK UP the annual fee after the first year to way above market rates, and charge you $50 if you want to move away! What a ridiculous business model. It makes me want to move all of my other hosting away from them, even though the hosting service has been without problems. I am considering moving all of my business away from them, and then let's see how long they survive. STAY AWAY rom RegistryWeb services. They have a predatory business model and nothing more.

Avoid, avoid, avoid!
Working on trying to transfer a domain away from them right now. After pay the $50 fee mentioned in the other posts (+$2 for currency conversion to their MoneyWeb subsidiary), I expected to get some sort of authorization code to allow the transfer to take place. There was nothing on the invoice for the fee, there was nothing on the web page for the "terminate and transfer" operation.. in short, there was nothing. I attempted to contact them through their web form, and when there was no response I logged a complaint with Internic.

Several days later I got an email from, not RegistryWeb, but Joker.com, with the Internic complaint attached, explaining that all I had to do was sign into my account and follow the directions to generate an authorization code. Fine and dandy, but I don't have a Joker.com account and never did.

Nothing ventured nothing gained, I entered my email address into Joker.com and hit the "forgot password" button. I promptly got an email [read more...]

A few years back i transfered 4 of my domain names to registryweb lured in by the low $6 transfer fee, then next year renewal is of course $16 USD / year, so i figured i just transfer somewhere else, this is where the shock sets in, there is an early termination fee of $50 on every domain... as well note that EARLY is relative or misleading because according to them and the service agreement this responsibility is permanent... in other words they will hold every of your domain names hostage for $50 each and/or you have to pay double the usual renewal rates. so i sadly had to let 3 of 4 of my domain rater expire then pay them, but unfortunately 1 is still hostage with them... i might add that this is just a tip of the iceberg, don't expect any help, convenient domain manager or other basic functions we are used to at any other registrant, there is also extra fees to update your domain information usually $25... i just wait patiently that maybe 1 day someone starts a class action [read more...]

This has to be THE worst place ever to get a domain name from. They are useless and the only reason you get the domain cheap is the fact that they will rip you off if you want to move it. Also do not expect very much help from there Customer support team, they are slow to reply and more often than not unhelpful. I'm moving all my domains away from them as soon as i can. (going to take over 6 months due to their so called Security, which they blame on there local law) My advice would be, don't even think about getting a domain from here. go to somewhere like 123-reg who are a large well established company who answer emails and help you with your domain rather then hinder!

Beware of this registry. I guess you get what you pay for. Registryweb is relatively inexpensive but their customer support is poor. If you try to contact them for service they will give excuses for not responding in a timely manner. They have cancelled their email addresses because they've been getting too many requests for service. They claim that the reason they don't have customer service phone support is because they can't afford it. They do have a website that will allow you to contact them but if you use it too often, they will lock out your account and domain name claiming that you have abused them in some way and reject any further contact you may attempt. If you make some changes to your domain, they will lock out any more changes for 6 months. Most other registrants will lock the domain for only a few days or weeks. They have not responded to my requests to transfer my domain off of their system. I would recommend that you stay away from them and their partner/sister sites [read more...]
