These guys suck. I've been programming for decades and I've never seen corporate behavior like this. Terrible customer service. I was invoiced so excessively one month and complained, but they were totally unreceptive. This company is rotten to the core, and I would never return as a customer

This company is not focused on providing high tech IT, but emptying your wallet instead. If they spent half of the money they waste on marketing, ads, and paid reviewers, they would be able to provide a good service, but they don't. The IT guys are probably bachelors. Don't buy their services unless you want to be treated like a piece of sh**

Rackspace Guarantees: Network will be available 100% of the time in a given month, excluding scheduled maintenance.

Network Uptime Isn't Wishful Thinking

We know that every second your network is down you're losing opportunities, revenue and the confidence of your users and visitors. So with that in mind, we designed and built our network to focus on uptime, and created aggressive Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to show just how much we believe in our network.

Our Network:
- We use the network only for our customers' hosting needs, never sharing it with telecom services or cable TV services that would negatively affect your service.
- The only bandwidth we use is high performance bandwidth, which usually isn't the case with cheaper hosting providers.
- To provide multiple redundancies in the flow of information to and from our data centers, we partner with nine network providers.
- Every fiber carrier must enter our data centers at separate points. This is to protect you from complete service failures caused by an unlikely network cut.
- You get fast and reliable network connections because our Proactive Network Management methodology monitors route efficiency and end-user performance, automatically improving the network's topology and configuration in real-time.

Data Center

Physical Security
Keycard protocols, biometric scanning protocols and round-the-clock interior and exterior surveillance monitor access to every one of our data centers.
Only authorized data center personnel are granted access credentials to our data centers. No one else can enter the production area of the datacenter without prior clearance and an appropriate escort.
Every data center employee undergoes multiple and thorough background security checks before they're hired.

Precision Environment
Every data center's HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) system is N+1 redundant. This ensures that a duplicate system immediately comes online should there be an HVAC system failure.
Every 90 seconds, all the air in our data centers are circulated and filtered to remove dust and contaminants.
Our advanced fire suppression systems are designed to stop fires from spreading in the unlikely event one should occur.

Conditioned Power
Should a total utility power outage ever occur, all of our data centers' power systems are designed to run uninterrupted, with every server receiving conditioned UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) power.
Our UPS power subsystem is N+1 redundant, with instantaneous failover if the primary UPS fails.
If an extended utility power outage occurs, our routinely tested, on-site diesel generators can run indefinitely.

Core Routing Equipment
Only fully redundant, enterprise-class routing equipment is used in Rackspace data centers.
Fiber carriers enter our data centers at disparate points to guard against service failure.

Network Technicians
We require that the networking and security teams working in our data centers be certified. We also require that they be thoroughly experienced in managing and monitoring enterprise level networks.
Our Certified Network Technicians are trained to the highest industry standards.

Rackspace is prepared for the transition from IPv4 to IPv6.

No control panel and crap support. Wow. And very expensive. I just had a live chat with them and they didn't know if the account was windows or linux, if there were any databases. Even worse, they couldn't give me FTP instructions.

Wish We Found Them First
IN January 2010 we signed up with Rackspace and hoped for the best as our first experience with managed hosting with 800Hosting was a disaster. The switch to Rackspace has been a great improvement for us. We have been with them for almost a year and have NO complaints about any of our websites, blogs or databases we have hosted with them. They have delivered all that they promised.

Our first experience with managed hosting was with 800Hosting and they delivered NONE of what they promised. They had a great website with great promises, but were more than a disappointment. All of our fully managed websites went down due to a catastrophic failure with their server, and we had to notify them! They did not even know! We purchased monitoring 24/7 so how could that be? We had purchased a fully managed dedicated server so we would not have such problems. They lost valuable confidential customer personal data and almost all product images - gone forever. Today is saturday 20th 2010 and my site has been down for one hour suddenly.
I pay $120 a month and I know that others are paying $180 for the same service. Site Clouds are not working properly. Less than a month ago I changed my hosting from Justhost were I had a horrible service in a shared environment and I transfered my site to Rackspace. They barrely helped me at all to transfer my site. They trully don't understand that $120 or even more $180 is an important enough amount
