This is an outrageous bad hosting company, who are incompetent and so arrogant that they do not believe they need to provide any level of support.
Talking to support is like talking to a sullen teen-ager, who is sulking because they have been caught out and refuse to co-operate.
In the 35 years (yes, really 35 years), I have been in the computer business, I have never been treated so badly.
I pay a fair amount of money for 5 sites with static IP addresses, which I pay for.
They made a mistake, and they "migrated" my site.
Not only did they not tell me they were doing that, but they then decided to change my FTP password, copy the wrong website to my area, AND change the IP address. They did not tell me.
I got hundreds of calls from clients asking if we had gone bust, as Pick A Web were displaying a website from nailtools.com

I have had to contact support a cuple of times and they have responded quickly and with really accurate info as I make website very well, but hate dns records when routing complex mail systems too. Completely rubbish web hosting service. I have used them for the past few years to host my website. I've had many issues in the past but the most recent have been the final straw. Regular server outages causing my site to go offline, emails to go missing, and ultimately me losing business and having my reputation damaged. Support is all outsourced, command of english is minimal at best, they don't seem to even understand the problem let alone be able to do anything to resolve them. This has happened the last 5 days in a row and it's too far, I am taking my business elsewhere. Pickaweb sucks - do not use them.
since 2002/03 pickaweb has never let me down. the people behind be it sales or tech have always over delivered.
I think this company is fantastic.
Great hosting plans, I do not have excellent knowledge of coding, so would have to pay alot of money to create a website for our fishing club. However with RV Site Builder which comes with the hosting plans, I am able to create a fantastic website.
I have had only 2 big issues - one was that I couldn't add multiple image folders, this took quite some time to resolve but pickaweb kept at it and eventually sorted it out.

I've had to contact pickaweb on 3 occasions over the last few years when experiencing technical difficulties (including a site hack) and they have been extremely prompt and helpful in sorting things out and providing me with a satisfactory solution.
The price is good, the RV sitebuilder is fairly easy to use for your average half decent computer user, but the service and support I have found exceptional.
What I also like is when you're on the 'online support chat' the support staff dont' work to a script, you actually feel like you're talking to 'real' people, which in this day and age is a pleasant change.
Pickaweb technical support answered my on-line chat query promptly and rectified the problem at once.
I have used many hosting services and have found pickaweb.co.uk very professional. WE still have a problem with Paypaland electronic payment because for security, our bank and paypal have set a US$ 60 limit on payments. We would like to know if it is not possible for clients to make payment by bank transfert for new services.
For technical services, we have been very satisfied so far.
Pickaweb now carry quite a domains for me and packages, the service is very good and the staff are always very quick to try and resolve any problems that you might have at that point in time.
I have taken many upgrades to my account and will more than likely stay with Pickaweb as they offer a competitive service with fantastic customer service which is important to me as a client.
I especially like the live chat function that they provide for support and they are continually looking to improve the services they offer.

Pickaweb, is by far the best hosting company that I have come across! No matter what you're looking for, Pickaweb has got it. Big or small website, Pickaweb can handel it.

Firstly, the customer service is excellent and superbly fast. There was a time when my websites kept going offline for no reason (unlike recently where it has been reasonable). This was a nuisance, but the problem was always remedied very quickly. The control panel, for a mid-level techie like myself, is somewhat foreboding and I've seen other panels where everything is much more user-friendly and clear. There are also other sites which have a better price-memory ratio. However, I've had a website with you for many years now so you can consider me generally satisfied.

I was very impressed with the responsive and high quality online support from Pascale (Sales) and Sam (Technical) via the online chat facility.
My request was tricky and involved both sales and technical advice at the same time. Sam invited Pascale to join us... and between the three of us, everything was resolved efficiently and effectively. Sam actually undertook the technical changes required on my behalf and I was up and running within minutes.
This service has renewed my faith in Online Support and Pickaweb has been considerably better than my experiences with similar facilities offered by other companies.

I've used other hosts before, I know very little about building websites but i can get by with a wordpress blog... my past experiences have been terrible with other companies, the tech support consisted of some young man with an attitude problem who mocks you if you ask questions!...

I have been with Pickaweb for nearly 2 years now. I have found them extremely helpful in every way, no matter if I want an additional feature or have a minor server issue.

Simply the best service I have ever had dealings with and cannot find fault with them for support or contactability.
We have never ever been able to log on to pickaweb without having pickaweb alter our log in details.
Totally not acceptable and no support (willing to provide more inf)
There was problem after problem.
1) My domain was updated within just hours and the website was showing fine, every few hours for several days it kept switching back to my parked domain name page. The DNS updated as i done a DNS lookup online and there was definately an issue with pick a web not the dns.
2) Once it seemed to have worked a day later same thing happened again. I spoke to there live support about 15 times within 5 days on a range of problems.
3) My website was playing up, i develop in php, mysql and kept getting loads of strange errors that i never encountered on any servers i have used previously. On further inspection i noticed they had register_globals on! this is something that should not be turned on and is recommended to be off for security purposes. So i asked could i create my own php.ini file and said yes it took about 20 minutes [read more...]
They promise an uptime of 99.9% but my logs show that currently it's 99.4% this year, and that's only the times I've checked, and doesn't include hacker downtime, so in reality it's likely to be much lower.
Tech support has been diabolical to the point where questions are ignored and textbook answers given.
They've gone downhill big time. It's such a shame as the products they offer for the price are great: they clearly cannot support such services.
