I hosted with Peer1 for over 10 years as the developer of numerous websites and online applications.

I have been moving my hosting to a lower cost solution and upon exiting, I requested that my server be "reclaimed". It's June 8. My renewal was just two days ago. They will bill me again in July for a FULL month - even though I have no reason to have this server any longer. Their actual hosting is stable. Their customer service has historically been HORRIBLE. I'm not an enterprise customer so I suspect I'm getting the "I don't care about this customer" support. I do not recommend this company ever. There are better hosting platforms with better service out there.

Have 5+ years experience with dedicated server service in peer1.

Support is polite and technically illiterate. Looks like their main goal is to set "reslove" status in a ticket instead of help you with issue.
If the issue is a bit complicated and need real investigation they'll just ignore you until you'll get tired.

Horrible!!!!
Spend 1 hour(!!!) talking with sales person on their "live chat" to get a quote for a dedicated server. After 1 hour asking stupid questions she said that she will transfer me to the specialist(!!!) But before she needs to take my phone number. When I said: "no". She answered that she refuses to give me a quote.

This is absolutely ridiculous! Read other reviews, looks like their service as bad as sales.

Hybrid Cloud Adoption to Triple Over Next 3 Years - Independent research commissioned by Peer 1 Hosting has found that hybrid cloud adoption is set to triple over the next three years. This shift coincides with corresponding reductions in the use of Private and On-Premise cloud hosting environments, despite adoption of these technologies continuing to grow overall.
The study, which canvassed the opinions of over 900 IT decision makers from Canada, North America and the UK, asked: “What do you expect your organisation’s approach to look like in one and three years’ time?” 10% of respondents stated that currently they primarily use hybrid cloud, with 28% anticipating they will be using hybrid cloud in three years’ time. In contrast, use of On-Premise hosting is anticipated to fall from 31% to 17% over the same period, whilst Private Cloud drops from 52% to 41%.

peer1 is horrible
they suck, they overprice like CRAZY!! and actually still charge people for a 10Mbps LAN connection....WTF?? Plus if they upgrade old ass servers that shouldnt even be in operation anymore, they don't even tell you about it until you go and tell them you want it. Sort of like how AOL made its services free but then didnt tell anyone so whoever didnt know still paid....

so ya Peer1 is HORRIBLE go with practically anyone else you can find.

•We hosted a Magento site and migrated Peer1 servers from Miami to Atlanta and Peer1 simply “forgot” an entire Cpu processor unit. I was the one who discovered this a full 4 weeks after they did the migration. It took me 2 days to get our Peer1 sales rep to even acknowledge the error, he couldn't or wouldn't login to our account to verify the error, I had to do it.

•When Peer1 went to add the missing Cpu unit, we asked them to partition the Linux system but they left off 2 Required Php extensions rendering our Magento site totally non-functional. The extensions were "mycrypt" and "memcache". This took my developer (also a Magento partner) billable time to discover.

•Delays caused by Peer1 postponed our launch, causing lost advertising dollars as well as requiring integration work again and it needed to be rechecked and re-tested once we moved to rack space.

•Peer1 double billed us for the month of July. No explanations or apology.
