I have used mydomain.com as an affordable Registrar for more than 11 years. Although, I have been disappointed by the usability of their "Control Panel", it never really mattered to me because I only use it for modifying DNS.
Recently, mydomain.com placed one (1) of my Domains into clientHold, citing ICANN policy. mydomain said that they attempted to reach me using the Whois Information on file.
However, I previously updated Whois as-well-as Owner, Billing, and Administrative. I have NO contact form mydomain to these addresses.
So, for "due diligence" to validate the Domain, there was NONE. Due diligence should have included 'escalating' contact requests to at least the "Owner" address.
My Domain has been offline for nearly 7 days now and I have received only two responses. Both responses are obviously scripted and offer no resolution.
Avoid the headache and go with Google Domains.
I have over 200 domains in my account and have been with them for 15 years. I spend DAYS everytime I want to sell and transfer a domain out. the Auth-code NEVER WORKS. EVER!
I think this is their tactic to make it impossible to transfer domains out. It will take me MONTHS and a support ticket for EACH domain to get them all out. What a NIGHTMARE.
I transferred one of my domain names about 6 months ago. So it should be completely off of their system. Yet, they recently sent me a "bill" for automatically renewing a domain that is no longer mine.
They locked my *ENTIRE* account over one domain that was TRANSFERRED 6 months ago.
I can't even access the account until I pay for a domain that hasn't been mine for half a year, because their auto-renew is too stupid to check if I am still the owner.
So it's mafia tactics. There really should be a class action lawsuit over charging people for domains they transferred ages ago. That is just criminal...

Waited 30 minute on chat!!
domain email forwarding broke several weeks ago, yet mydomain.com continued to insist there was no issue until I was able to escalate (it only took three tries) my trouble ticket to someone who would actually look at my account. Then I was told, yes, there is an issue, and it will be as much as two weeks before a technician can "look into it." So I'm looking at more than a month for mail to be completely down for 3 .com domains.
They totally changed their platform and, in the process, they changed website editors and eliminated the Plesk they had. This means you have to totally rebuild your sites... all of them if you used their site builder. They were totally unresponsive to this issue. They gave no warning this would happen. In shopping around, I discovered I've been raped on pricing.
Still counting how much this company has lost me over the last year. As you have read in many of these reviews, MyDomain began a migracion operation around 12 months ago which seems to destroy everyone´s website. I personally host around 30 domains with this company and all of them lost email funcionality (due to them changing the email servers and not telling anyone). Get this - PHP scripts still don´t work on their domains! I have to run them via GoDADDY! My largest website which has over 1,000 pages and is PR5 (alexa, 90,000) disappeared. After one week of calling the support center I was eventually told "sorry, but our new servers don´t support your website!)
If you rely on your website for any type of business whatsoever, keep clear of Mydomain. They´ll happily take your money and then when something goes wrong, you´re on your own.
Mydomain started to migrate its customers to its "new" platform about a year ago, with disastrous effects for our company.
Every time we had to report a problem the waiting period was unusually long. Last week we were switched to the "NEW" platform. Seven days have passed by and our company is still without email service and without access to our email attachments of emails received in the last year.
Waiting period to report this problem, over the phone, has been up to an hour every time, even when calling at late hours. Mydomain seems overwhelmed with calls.
The problem of re-activating our email service has proved impossible to resolve. Level one technicians have been unable to resolve the issue and refer the case to higher level technicians, with same results.
Our company has filled out at least three different "Support Tickets" in the last 5 days, to remind them of the problem. As of today all of them remain unanswered!

After hosting e-mail for 14 years, My Domain completely screwed up their whole act and were unable to fix the problem for at least 3 WEEKS!
Apparently this was related to their move to the “Vdec” Platform. (maybe they moved to Mars. – do we care?)
Anyone interested in a class action law suit?
Absolute worst. Everything is all bad. How the hell are they showing 5 stars in Google with nothing but bad reviews.
Unannounced console upgrade (downgrade?) at mydomain.com has led to loss of forwarding addresses and permanent loss of facility to use domain catchall forwarding addresses, a key requirement for my customers. On first call (60 mins) to support (from UK), after a request 'can I put you on hold for a moment' I waited a further 30 mins with no response before hanging up. Second call did at least lead to an explanation but no resolution. Of course this all reflects very badly on my own business reputation, not to mention the time to work around.
Anyway, if you have other options, just skip mydomain.
First of all, I was a client of MyDomain.Com for over 13 years. I only used their E-mail forwarding, creating a configuration that greatly reduced SPAM. For the last six months, my strategy yielded 0 spam, in as much as the only spam I got was addressed to my actual email address.
Then they sent me a note that they were converting me to a new control panel. Big deal. Control Panels get updated. But, they also removed the catch-all email address forwarding, and the subdomain email forwarding. NO NOTICE of the functional change of the domain was provided.
2 days before Thanksgiving, they converted the domain and broke all of my email infrastructure. Auction sites, business sites, everything is now dead in the water. I have dozens and dozens of accounts to fix.
I called. They submitted a ticket. My domain has been broken for 8 days now. The only solution I had, since they wouldn't respond, is to transfer my domain. Now, I suspect that they are just ignoring me [read more...]
As you can see from other recent reviews, MyDomain.com has been transferring its users to a new account/interface without warning. Suddenly one day you get a "your account has been transferred" message.
Everything about the new account is terrible. I have over 200 domain names through MyDomain.com. About 24 or so of my domain names never showed up in the new account (and you can't log into your "old" account). Whois still shows me as the owner and MyDomain.com as the registrar, but the domains aren't in my account list.
In addition they have raised the prices for renewals by $1, which is a major increase. They always give discount codes to get people to register with them, but never give out discount codes for renewals (they also make sure all codes don't work for renewals).
I have already started transferring domains (but that is expensive) and I still have no idea what is going on with the missing domain names. Support responses are slow (if ever) unless you purchase their [read more...]
As others say, mydomain.com has a trackrecord of regularly messing about their customers and not offering decent customer support.
Our domain and sub-domain forwarding has not been working for nearly a week now! This has caused us enormous issues and mydomain.com have well and truly done everything they can to try to damage our business by not responding to a single query.
I know a lot of other customers are affected too - one guy has 263 domain names which are not working thanks to mydomain.com screwing up again, as they have done many times of the years!
To add insult to injury, they are redirecting all our valuable traffic to their pages with PPC ads from which they are making money!
I am disgusted and appalled that mydomain.com have not even responded to a single support ticket or email sent to them in the last week. They don't pick up the phone either - kept on call holding for over half an hour and still nobody picking it up.
Their new platform sucks big time. Removed a lot of features without warning. E-mail was not working anymore.
Moving out asap.
Last night I got switched over to their new platform w/o any warning.
OK, so technically they *might've* warned me, in that it was probably posted in the Douglas-Adams sense ("It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard.'"). But I'd have appreciated an email or something about it.
But that's not the real problem... the real problem is that the "new platform" doesn't do everything that the old platform does. Some features that I had been relying upon now require additional fees. And some features that I had been relying upon simply have no equivalent. So I've been left scrambling all day to find a replacement host that offers the features I need.
Needless to say, I'm rather upset. I'll be moving all my domains away as soon as I can.
Mydomain has recently changed their hosting servers and screwed up most of my hosting. The email is not working, the forwarding of email is not working. The billing information is lost. They will not fix the problem. When you complain they lock your control panel out.
This is the worst service ever.

their support is vary bad even phone support. you call then and wait for hours. i am serious hours :(
Because of the low cost of the hosting, SPAM is sent often and the servers are blacklisted. I've had issues emailing certian ISPs (comcast.net seems to be the one that catches me a lot) and I file a ticket to have it resolved. It works for a while, but then gets blacklisted again. I've had to submit 4 cases in the past 9 months to get it resolved.
Luckily this is a personal account, if it were a business, I'd be paying more with another company.
They are always going down. Web traffic routes (I think) to my domain but I host the actual site somewhere else. Their email is down as much as it is up it seems.
Customer services response to complaints "Oh well, nothing else we can do, you are going to just have to deal with it."
I've been using MyDomain.com for years to park my domain and use email forwarding.
Without any warning they moved my domain to a "new" platform. They erased all my 100+ forwarding rules and disabled the "catch-all" forwarding. I'm now getting NO email for my domain!
I called immediately and support was useless. They didn't know what was going on and wanted me to re-enter my forwarding rules by hand. They couldn't reinstate the catch-all email and opened a ticket.
Five days later there has been no response to the ticket, the support line is useless telling me they're looking at it.
I work for a technology firm. If this were my conversion I'd be fired. So, I'm firing MyDomain.com. A company that doesn't test and respond to their customers doesn't deserve my money.
Today they added a zero priority MX record to ALL domains they are the registrar for. I have no way to remove it!
Lay Terms: they screwed up email for thousands of domains today. I did not ask for this!
I'm thinking of filing a lawsuit.
Customer Support is non existent. Impossible to get hold of and when you do get someone they are condescending, rude and just damn unhelpful!!!
I have hosted on justhost, fatcow, and host monster. NONE of them have given me the runaround like this place. I cannot wait to transfer...
is now 1 month I unable to end email from they server since is every other day in the spam blocked list, I asked them to move me to more reliable server or refund so I could host elsewhere

If I had to use one word to describe mydomain it would be:
We hosted through them using their "deluxe Linux hosting" plan for 2 corporate domains and one enthusiast site. The admins of the enthusiast site have been in contact with mydomain support several times over database issues, and general setup issues. Nothing ever comes of the communication, via email, or their -non-toll-free number.
Better still, settings that I have set have been reverted, effectively breaking our sites and it wasn't me (the only admin who does technical changes to the sites) who made the changes.
(No doubt the admins among us can appreciate how difficult it is to troubleshoot "stuff's not working" issues, when the web host is changing settings on you without your knowledge. It's like trying to hit a moving target while blindfolded and just having had your ears boxed.)

Customer Service is non exsistant

please please plese did't register any domain with them....
1. MyDomain.com's servers are down almost all the time.
2. The speed is terrible.
3. Customer service is a joke; it takes forever to speak to a representative. When you finally do, they usually have no clue what's going on.
4. My client’s sites as well as mines for more than 24 hours because their PHP server is down.

I am leaving this service and take all my clients with me.
Frankly, we didn't even get as far as putting up our websites on mydomain.com because we had so many problems with our email accounts! The problem is that the inexpensive mydomain.com services are apparently very popular with spammers, and ISPs will block email coming from the mydomain.com servers. Our email was translated through the dotsterhost13 server and my emails to domains like msn.com, mchsi.com, q.com and other popular ISPs have been blocked... I complain and 3 weeks later it is "fixed" only to reoccur again the next day. I've had it and am going elsewhere. Webhosting reviews and ratings are easy to find, but being able to get your email through is as important if not more so!!!!
Oh, and other reviewers are right -- the webmail is slower than molasses in January and there are frequent outages, including one of 3 days right after we signed up!
I also find their control panel difficult to use, and they set your userid and passwords - which are difficult to memorize. I like the freedom and flexibility of setting my own codes.
When I complained to them the last time about my email situation and the problems it has caused me professionally, I threatened to leave them if the problem wasn't fixed. I got a canned response about how to discontinue service. That tells me a lot about how much they respect customers who have been with them for several years and have never been late on payment.
It is the e-mail service with MyDomain that I am most displeased with. My e-mail account is down on a regular basis (at least once every few weeks). It is usually down anywhere from half a day to several days. Their customer service varies - sometimes they respond within 24 hours, sometimes several days, but usually just to tell me that it's being looked into, and sorry for the inconvenience.
Also, when my e-mail IS working, the webmail feature is horribly slow ALL the time. After entering my username and password I usually have to wait 30 seconds to several minutes for it to login. Usually when I use webmail I will click "Login" and then open another window to surf while I wait for my email to show up. It's that bad.
It is the same while browsing/composing messages. Very slow.
