😞 Huge bills are issued for excess traffic, even if it is illegitimate.
If you ordered a server with a limit of, say, 10 TB, but there was an attack on your server, then you will have to pay for traffic from the rates of 5 cents per gigabyte. The problem is not only that illegal traffic is not cut off, but that ordinary traffic packages are calculated at much lower tariffs. For example, in one of the months we were billed for 4429 euros for overspending traffic of 98 TB, although the same traffic costs a very reasonable 60 euros from the provider. The difference is more than 70 times. Moreover, the official offer agreement does not contain these frenzied prices of 5 cents per gigabyte, they are indicated on the website in the FAQ section, which is only a reference information. In other words, traps are set.

With 20 years in the hosting industry, Leaseweb offers professional services on a global level serving industries, such as SaaS, gaming, MarTech and AdTech, iGaming or E-commerce.
The company offers the following hosting products:
- Shared Hosting;
- VPS Hosting;
- Cloud Hosting;
- Dedicated Servers;
- Colocation;
- Domain Registration;
- CDN;
Shared hosting plans are available both on Linux and Windows. These are suitable for customers who work with PHP, ASP.NET or MySQL. All shared hosting plans include the following unlimited features:
- Unlimited domain aliases;
- Unlimited subdomains;
- Unlimited email aliases;
The inconvenience that might appear in the case of some customers is that the company does not offer unlimited data traffic. Data backup, SSL certificates, antivirus and spamfilter – these are all integrated to maintain data safety.
Virtual private servers are powered by Intel or AMD processors. These run on fully redundant network that uses top-notch hardware and open-source technology. With SSD disks, they are available on both Linux and Windows.
Configured on cutting-edge Intel processors with the option of scalability, dedicated servers are single-tenant servers available as pre-configured plans as well as the possibility to build your own server. With the help of customer portal and API, customers can perform reboots, OS reloads, IP management, rescue modes or data traffic measurements.
💰 Price & Cost
Prices differ from one plan to another, meaning that some can come at cheap rates whereas others can be more expensive.
Customers benefit from the fact that Leaseweb provides flexible contracts, so there are no strict restrictions. Unfortunately, there is no mention of a money-back guarantee which could make customers look for another hosting provider that offers them the possibility of getting their money back. We did find a mention that refunds are only possible within the first 24 hours after order placement.
⌛ Reliability
The company offers 99.999% uptime guarantee for their services. Data traffic reaches +10 Tbps capacity, maintaining high network availability.
🏢 Data Center
The headquarters of the company are located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. They own top-tier ISO certified data centers on three continents: Europe, Asia and North America. They own 43 points of presence as well as 29 Internet Exchanges. Some of their locations are:
- USA: Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington D.C.;
- Frankfurt; London; Amsterdam; Hong Kong; Singapore; Sydney;
✍️ Customer Support
Technical assistance can be consulted via phone, ticket support, e-mail or social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn). They also own a YouTube channel that customers can visit anytime and there is also a knowledgebase as well as API documentation available as additional resources.
🔨 Control Panel
They provide multiple control panels that are available depending on the hosting solution you choose. Thus, they work with:
- cPanel: intuitive control panel, cPanel is preferred by the majority of customers;
- Plesk: easy to use, it is one of the most popular control panels in the hosting industry;
- Vesta: open-source, web-based control panel made for Linux systems;
🎯 Conclusion
Leaseweb is a Dutch-based hosting provider with international recognition that offers a multitude of hosting options loaded with features.Their prices vary from the entry-level plan to the advanced-level plan. However, there is no money-back guarantee which could leave customers without their money back in case they are not satisfied by their services.
With global presence, multiple control panels available, good support options and great uptime, Leaseweb is a professional choice for online projects.

😁 Perfect organized and in control company
I’m since 2008 a Leaseweb user and all is handled correct. Self service center is user friendly. Uptime is always on. Speed is constant and never below avarage ISP’s speed in NL. Helpdesk is working and answering 24/7. Last question was send and answered in minutes. Server, FTP, domains setting and site has to much to offer which I do not use but is very comprehensive for those who need this. Webmail functions are perfect. Conclusion is that Leaseweb is leader in Europe and a dedicated partner for Multinationals.

😠 I urge companies NOT to use LeaseWeb. if you end up in a dispute regarding a broken service, leaseweb will never take responsibility. we terminated all our services in mid-2019 due to technical problems and they are chasing us with mafia methods to collect € 600 for a new 12-month period. On January 27, 2020, they will now send the case to the Amsterdam Court where we must appear to defend ourselves. If they win the case, they will use EAPO (European Account Preservation Order) to block your company's bank account if your company is located in the EU.
Of all the dedicated server providers we have used since 1997, we have never encountered a company that is so hostile.

😠 The worst customer service. The 99.9% uptime is nonsense or we frequently in the 0.1% with everyone else. It’s a very expensive service for very little service. Zero help when their servers were down. No pro active communication. Our tech eng contacted them repeatedly as he was told by their help desk that it must be just our website and no other issues are reported. Our network eng sent through the diagnostics which showed it was their server offline. No response for 4 days!

😠 I have six servers hosted here. Small potatoes, I realize, but nonetheless. I use Leaseweb because their prices are really low and their provisioning API does what I need. But I have to say, their non-technical customer support is horrible. Just now I'm trying to get a new dedicated server set up. In the process, they made what they've described as an "administrative error" which prevents the server from showing up in their Control Panel which, in turn, prevents me from accessing the server in any way. It's been more than a week now, with 14, count 'em, e-mail exchanges trying to get them to respond to me and correct this "administrative error." It's a nightmare. At this point I'm almost pissed off enough that I'll have the motivation necessary to take on the pain and effort of moving my whole operation to another hoster, small potatoes though it may be.

😠 I cancelled the vps in 2018 (i canceled the service due to a lot of downtime) and now - in 2020 - they sent to me an invoice for the next two years. I indicated them i am not their client since 2018. They have been threatening ever since. It seems to be a big scam and so they are trying to make an illegal profit. Maybe someone they threaten will pay them. It is better to host at a company where they will not try to rip off you later!

😠 After 9 years with them, they have changed the withdrawal policies without giving notice and now they expect one to cancel the services with two months' notice, otherwise the annual contract is renewed for another year. Really ridiculous even compared to all competitors where you can turn servers on and off according to your imminent needs.
Furthermore, they reserve the right to change the contract at any time, meaning that it is accepted in any case. Real scammers.

Leaseweb is feeling pretty company - as the company offers a very bold 99.999% uptime guarantee. This means that your website would only be down for 5 minutes a year.
This is the most ridiculous statement I have heard as I sit here for the 2nd time in 6 months with my site down. The first time was for 18 hours and so far this time it has been 8 (who knows how much more):

😠 I had a VPS with leaseweb which was around 5 EURO per month.
Recently, it was hacked - And due to the hack there was a lot of bandwidth usage.
Leaseweb are not trying to charge me 1,000 EUROS in overage fees.
This 5 eur VPS server is now 1000 EUROS for a single month.
The bandwidth overage was 9TB. To put it into perspective, they offer 100TB for around 70 euro extra. The true value of this overage is just 7 EURO!
To add insult to injury, their team member Jeroen Tuijn, said he would waiver 70% of the server - if I upgraded it to a 49.99 per month server and pre paid for two years! Which is another 1199.76 ontop of the 30% - a WHOPPING 1,499.76 EURO (nearly 2,000 USD) overage! WOW - Thanks but no thanks Jeroen.

😠 I have been a satisfied customer of a PAAS called Jelastic/ServInt for over 8 years... until LeaseWeb bought it and tried to turn it into a organ grinder monkey. They wiped out my data without notice, switched to a more aggressive billing model and when I shut down my servers and stopped paying them they charged a disconnect fee which was not part of my contract when I signed on with the previous operators.

I've nothing against porn websites but i do have something against those individuals and webhosts who profit from the suffering of those who are less fortunate than themselves and i can state that leaseweb (Netherlands), who run more than one very large porn site themselves not just as a host, continue to exploit many girls who have had images stolen from them and continue to ignore requests to remove these illegal images despite knowing the full implications of this upon the victims, for this reason i am posting my review here. Big thumbs down to you leaseweb, for the sake of a few dollars or few hundred dollars you are wrecking peoples lives and you are well aware of this and continue to do so.

I was a happy owner of a vServer at Netdirekt for 3 years. Then, 2 years ago it was bought by LeaseWeb.
Netdirekt guaranteed me no price increase for the whole contract time, but right after Netdirekt was bought LeaseWeb already wanted to increase the price. I managed to avoid that, but in the next year their simple solution to that is to just shut down the whole netdirekt server infrastructure and switch to their other vServer others, so we Netdirekt customers also can be squeezed out like lemons every year. (They increase the price of your server by ~3.5% every year! But that of course is nowhere mentioned when you order the server)
Well they won't get no single penny from me no more.

I've been their client for a few months. The last month they thought maybe my payment is fraud (I've just paid with my wife's PayPal, so everything was honest), and then, while they were checking this, they have wiped my server disks and all the info have been lost... by the other reason I lost my other backup data, anyway, I was in hope that my Leaseweb server will be recovered asap, but no result... It takes about 3 weeks instead of a 5 days as they promised. I had about 15 calls to them. It looks like they smoke grass each day and night. After 14th call support guy told me : "We setup your server but something wrong" . Now i use this phrase as a joke to anyone "Something wrong." It's like roulette , if you get a good hard disk on your server, that's a miracle, but if your hdd was broken, you would wait for about a month. I don't mind how this company isn't ruined yet.
