Ipage use to be a good hosting company, but in the last few years they have gone downhill. Sure support is available 24 hours a day but youl will spend at least 1 hour on the phone waiting to take to support and online chat takes longer. Beware of what you sign up for, this is a company that will try to nickel and dime you to death, including after your purchase. When you log into your control panel you will be presented with several offers to purchase addition services, You will need to decline these offers before you can get to your control panel. Also be careful where you click in your control panel because the control panel is littered with ads for additional services. In the last month I have had several problems with ipage on multiple domains I manage.

Even though they have very low prices ipage STICKS when it comes to load times. I got hooked with the price feature. But as they say you get what u paid for.
iPage borders on committing credit card fraud. I have carefully set my accounts to only manually renew (set them NOT to auto-renew) for two years in a row and yet iPage has automatically charged my credit card to renew hosting services for each year. I have then had to call iPage staff to ask them to refund my card. The iPage staff never seem to care about the problem and the card does not get refunded. I have then had to call back a second time to finally get my money back for the services I did not intend to purchase in the first place. This means that iPage is charging a credit card that they DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO USE for services that the client did not agree to purchase.
In addition, iPage uses deceptive practices to make it appear that consumers are receiving a cheap service when in reality it is expensive after the first year. They do this by offering VERY inexpensive services for the first year and not advertising anywhere that the prices will go up by roughly 14 times [read more...]

There are several services that you have to pay extra for, but that is the same for all budget hosting packages. One thing I would like, that they do not offer, is the option of a dedicated IP. Overall though, I am happy with them as a host and would use them again for additional websites."
I've learned stuffs from their support and I am satisfied with the service that they are providing me.. I don't know if I'm going to experience trouble with them but so far it was a great experience.. I'll be checking this website often so that I can see some more reviews good or bad.. If you have more than one site to host here, it cannot be done without extended assistance through chat.
Chatpeople at ipage are GREAT, no maybe's about it, but, still, there is no way for you the customer to create and host multiple domains there. Only the primary domain purchased through ipage.com can be used, no way to create even simple pointers, because there are NO buttons anywhere on the site for pointers or subfolders.
We have many accounts with many companies, and never ran into quite this issue before. We paid for several years in advance just based on reviews and their claim to have a million domains. Sorry, we do not believe that number at all.
Price WOULD be good for multiple domains, but slightly pricey for just one site.
Their advertised refund policy is bogus...read the teeny tiny small print!!! I don't remember it there when I purchased their hosting service but it is there now...even so, their tactics are questionable. I paid $114.80 and soon after decided I had gotten in over my head and requested refund. They only refunded $54.00???? After multiple attempts to get an reason for the partial refund, each response stating my secret question answer was incorrect??, the EXACT same answer given before they processed the partial refund...suddenly the answer is wrong?? What a SCAM. I am guessing that is how they stay in business. The add ons I signed up for were for the sole purpose of promoting the page ...the page that never existed????????? I have filed a claim through Paypal...Also, noticed that they had already been posted for a renewal fee???? Thankful I noticed that...so canceled it. Ipage just billed me $128 even though I canceled account 1 year ago and on just contacting them, I have had to cancel the account today and informed must pay $15 cancellation fee even though renewal date is in 3 weeks. Have never used this account since cancellation. Scammers
the false claims about unlimited bandwidth come to a face smacking halt as soon as you go over 500mb in 24 hours, so much for unlimited bandwidth. you guys are sucky liars if only you had lived up to your hype, people would stick with your business.
i hosted a customers site with ipage and it will not work like it should. i am only able to open certain links after I have been to certain pages. example: i can only go from the bio page to the home page. Can't get to the Home page any other way.
And their hosting is extremely slow
iPage is by far the most horrible "company" I have ever come across. There are literally 1000s of complaints all across the internet from people who have been ripped off by this scam of a company.
They charge you after cancelling, and then refuse to refund the money the stole.
They lie to you over and over.
They post FAKE REVIEW SITES (LIKE THIS ONE) WHERE THEY GIVE THEMSELVES RAVE REVIEWS.
THIS IS THE MOST HORRIBLE RIP OFF COMPANY OUT THERE. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD OR YOUR PERSONAL INFO. CHECK OUT THE COMPLAINTS BOARDS...AND CHECK OUT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. THEY ARE A TOTAL SCAM AND THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. PERIOD.
Had to transfer my accounts on Host Gator. Would not recommend ipage.com to anyone. Review are very important and is very important to read them before make a decision.
Could I have a one person point of contact? instead of having to repeat the same problem over and over, every time I call Tech Support? kind of like a "personal tech support" like IXwebhosting?

I started my blog in October. Until then I used Arvixe which was never down but I didn't know what I was doing back then. I went with this company because review sites were recommending it. I now realize they are all affiliates. There was only 1 bad review and it was stupid and the person was wrong. I thought I hit the jackpot. When I first started it was alright. I would go to my site and it would be down and I would call customer service and they would apologize saying "Sorry our server is down". I was nice about it but how many times is that supposed to fly? Fast forward to now- any and all website analysis I get says my site is super slow (92% slower than other websites). I have to wait at least 40 seconds for a page to open most times. I have fallen asleep waiting for a page to open. Thats only when it will open. I started getting error messages a while back. OK, when I started with ipage in 2009 I had no problems for maybe 6 months....................then it all started to go wrong,
1st the server went down & after some days they admitted they had problems so gave me another server number. It worked for a time but many problems to date.
The most notable, NOT BEING ABLE TO LOGIN TO ANYTHING including my mail, about 6 months ago I had decided to make them my default mail provider via my website & use only their service for my emails. Fortunately I kept Gmail also because due to the log-in problems I have been unable to reach either my control panel or my emails.
Also at one point recently I was given another new server, this time not a number but ftp.ipage.com.............this has never connected for more than 2 weeks so I changed it back to my original server & it worked for uploading my site only. All the good reviews they have are PAID MARKETINGS. ipage also has 2 mb upload limit... which makes it impossible to build even a decent website. They also have 60 sec execution time which makes so that even if they increase it to 10 mb upload size limit, you can only upload 2mb in the end with the execution time limit. Oh and default is 2mb size limit... you have to ask and beg them to lift it to 10 mb. It's ridiculous. Do not use ipage hosting service. DO not use their sister company ipower either.

Butt...... they are cheap and you get what you pay for..
It looks like a lot of negative reviews are from people with low patience, high IT skills and a significant amount of material to host. If this is the case, then iPage may not be the best solution for massive quantities of website and email storage.
But smaller businesses and organizations may enjoy iPage's creative ways of establishing a system of plug-and-play software, freeware, open-source and a handful of useful tools that can be used - especially for a staff with limited IT skills or budget.
The price is a good value at $4.50 a month for the hosting package that includes a domain, emails, six-page website and so on. Sometimes it's lowered, depending on what specials are offered.

If you are runing a business or anything other than a hubby this is not yours, their sec 13 of their terms and condition opens the way to suspend your account if they like to at any time
One day, you may receive a notice from the legal department stating that you have exceeded the disk space and will be terminated in three days if you don't reduce the size on disk.
Now, since you don't know how far over you are, then how do you know how much to remove? I spent almost two weeks buying more hosting from another company that states a hard size limit and then uploading to that server. All those days of uploading at 60K, the htaccess files and email accounts. I really don't have a word to express my contempt for Ipage.
I had over 10 sites hosted with Ipage and my disk space went over 25 gig. That triggered the notice.
I had no problem with Ipage performance, price and service but the unlimited "lie" did it for me.

Then, you host a Wordpress Blog... SO SLOW!!! you go back to the site... slow slow slow... DOWN !
You reach the customer support... "APOLOGY, the servers are down / we 're having a peak.. BLA BLA It won t happen again"
4 weeks later... SLOW SLOW --> Customer support: "APOLOGY BLA BLA"
If you want to host an E-commerce web site or any kind of web site where speed and availability is important.. just forget about Ipage. I truly would have prefer to pay twice more for a "normal" hosting company.
The customer service seems to be really good at saying that they apology but never expect anything from them. They will just close the ticket by saying "I tested your site, it works"! This, just after telling them that it came back but for the second time in a month it was very slow or down for 2 hours.

To get a simple web hosting plan you have to wade through 5 or 6 screens of upselling, THEN once registered, you HAVE to move your domain name registration to them (which - surprise! - is probably more expensive than your existing registrar)...of course there's no warning of this ahead of time.
Then you cancel for your 'full money back refund' only to find that anything you purchased during the endless upselling is NOT refunded.
They're simply a bunch of con artists as far as I'm concerned. I went for Inmotion instead.

Ipage customer support are very poor they never give you support only say do your own work. I lost my $35 for one year hosting and within 3 month i move my wordpress to hostgator. You can also see this status on screenshot - http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/9964/hgipagestatus.jpg and you can think about that how both hosting have different speed. NEVER EVER BUY IPAGE AGAIN. VERY BAD EXPERIENSE.
Tech support is good, but what good are they when they cant explain why they have outages?
Google Adwords and all marketing ventures have to now be manually paused to avoid losing money on empty clicks to no where.
I am considering moving to a more stable provider.
First: Unlimited space and bandwidth. I do not use a lot of both, but I like to know I will not be overcharged for extra if I go above a certain limit. This is of course not meant to host files not related to the website or to host a big website, it's for small companies and personal websites.
Second: Running time. My previous server was always down, with iPage it happened twice for only a couple of minutes since I'm with them. For the price I'm paying it is acceptable, I'm not the only one using the server after all.
Third: unlimited databases (mySQL) and the ability to use many PHP applications is a plus. I've been installing a chat software I use with coworkers and a blog. My previous host only allowed 1 database...

So, I took cNet’s word, and contacted iPage. The only time I ever reached them was to give them a credit card number. I never received an email with login info, I never was able to reach a human on the phone, I tried their “chat” but no one home…I sent them two emails from their form…and nothing.
It’s four days later, and I found another host. I have to dispute the charges with my credit card.
Thanks iPage. You suck.

I signed up with iPage on a Thursday evening. I didn't receive any email at checkout. I didn't receive any notification at all that first night. Wondering what might be going on I got on the live chat with them on the next morning (Friday). Only then did they setup my account.
I had already looked on Thursday evening to see if the domain had been registered. It had but it had all my personal information showing. I had paid the extra amount to have privacy on the domain. They did fix that later but why should I have to run that down.
OK, they got me setup at this point. I loaded up my pages. Did some work for a week or two. I noticed the response times were kind of slow so I put in monitor over at the http://mon.itor.us/ site.
