I've hosted with hostmysite.com since 2004. They used to be a great company. There was a buyout a few years back and they have been a mess ever since. The control panel doesn't work well anymore. The ticketing system takes forever. When you call support it's a crap shoot whether you will get someone who knows what they are doing. Hosting error messages are resolved then they start happening again. So frustrating especially since they used to be so great.
HostMySite used to be a pretty decent company to work for up until about 16-18 months ago. Initially, their customer service started to go down hill. Then, they switched over to a new platform which broke their control panel and caused an array of problems. Now, I have to put in a ticket for just about everything (file permissions, creating databases, redirects, dsn configuration, etc...). Sometimes, a task that is simple as changing permissions on a file can take up to a week or more which is unacceptable. If the control panel worked, I could perform all of these tasks in under 5 minutes myself. These issues with the control panel have been going on for over 8 months and HostMySite keeps stating that they plan to have it resolved within the next 3-4 months. I'd stay away from this company at all costs.

I've been with hostmysite.com since 2000. I was satisfied and recommended them to friends for so many years. The last two years have been rough. The service has declined and my recent experience has been horrible.
I cannot currently order a working hosting account. Since hostmysite.com switched over to CF9 not a single account I have set up works. I've spent 7 days troubleshooting the latest CF9 box with the tech support team just to get the DNS set up. None of the control panel items works on CF9 and they make no apologies for that.
This is my second shared CF9 hosting account and the first experience was worse. After the account was set up it took 5 days to get it actually working. Then it crashed the first day it was live.
It sad to see a good company go bad. Maybe this is just growing pains, but I don't want to waste hours of my time troubleshooting when it should just work
