I have been with hostmds for a while. They had some issues back in 09, but had a management change in 10 and service has been excellent ever since. I have over a dozen domains running with them. Can't beat their dedi deals !

No answer to tickets. No phone answer. NOTHING !
For a small business is a nightmare .
Recently when we decided to let the account lapse they all of a sudden processed an automatic payment (of which they have never done in the past 3 yeears) When we asked for a refund they blamed it on us and our inability to cancel the invoice.

Also, their spam assassin settings weren't available. They sent me screen shots that were inaccurate. Their tech support is the worst.
I had 3 domains with different accounts, of these one server was down for 2 months, all data was lost. I had to quickly sign up with another provider and restore from backups. Forget about reimbursements from the 1 year of services left..
The second account I passed on to another web support company that quickly change the web hosting provider.
I write this now because the 3rd and final account has been down for the past 3 days. Its easter and I hope that it is down due to lack of techs on deck and not because of a major outage resulting in data loss again.
Once I get the data backed up I am jumping ship.

Support is a bit hit and miss. Sometimes I'll get a response from them very quickly, sometimes it's even helpful, but over the last few weeks in particular, my site has been going down more and more frequently, and as I write it has been down for almost 36 hours. Response from support has been very quick, but it's just the "We apologise for the inconvenience and are looking into it..." message again and again.
In short, it's pretty cheap and the features are ok, but if you're looking for reliability, HostMDS is not for you.
This is a pretty inexpensive host and you do get what you pay for. But for the price, they're not as bad as these reviews make them out to be.
they are the most terrible & horrible host I have ever seen in my life.
it is almost more than two weeks the server is down .
do not even think about it to do business with them.
Now, HostMDS has been down for over 3 weeks, and all I get from them is "sorry, we're working on it."
I'm definitely not reneweing.
I never choose this company either to recommend.just runaway from it.
all the database and files has gone and they have no clue how to get it back to server.
I've been using them about 6 month, they had suspend me once, but the server load seem good.
The best thing i know and that the thing i need in hostmds is the streaming ability.
Using hostmds, you can use video sharing script, the sever is ready to use for video script like clip share, php motion, Social Engzine...
I quite like them, i know the fact that sometime the customer service is lower than others.
I was with vistapages for over two years, which was bought out by HostMDS. They have ZERO support. They somehow tried charging me $1199 (instead of $94), and made it incredibly difficult to get things straightened out (many phone calls, left messages, etc). They claim to have 24/7 support, but calling after 5pm leaves you on hold for ~25 minutes, after which you get a notice that you need to enter a "priority support agreement number', otherwise get disconnected.
Extremely frustrating experience.
I really should press matters in regards to a refund as it has been THAT BAD. I honestly don't know why I stuck with them this long. Laziness on my part I guess.
Everything else is so-so. The only good thing is that they use cPanel. Otherwise, stay clear of this company unless you're okay with your site not loading.
HostMDS buying HostVector is quite possible the worst thing that has happened in the hosting industry. Don't blame anyone but yourself if this host screws you over, which they will.

The remaining two are only there only because the wont bother to return my calls, answer any of my support tickets or return my email in order for me to cancel.
The worst Customer service and the technical support in non existing.
One my accounts is up for renewal shortly and they say that "Payment will be taken automatically" from my visa they have on record. However they will not let you cancel your account.
Stay away from this company!
The technical supprt may respond in a few days or they may not. It's really hit or miss.
I think I'm stuck because they will not refund my money.

We have sent all the drives to the best recovery specialists around and they are working hard to get all data recovered. So we asked HostMDS to cancel our service and refund the balance of fees we had paid in advance. They told us they "could not do that".
Basically they have repeat outages, poor technical support (I think a high school student could do better than their staff), and they take money for services they don't provide.
My advice is to stay away from HostMDS and if they acquire your provider switch to someone else at the earliest opportunity.
They have gone down so far. Today was the last blow. After taking my main business site to another provider, I was hoping to wait until the the contract for second site was close to ending. But it went down againvtoday, again. Too unreliable, poor service, tech support never gets back to you and can't seem to fix problems (it takes several tried). They send an email saying it is fixed, but you must check it.
Don't use this company.

I finally had to move to a new more reliable host because i was loosing money FAST.
DO not use hostMDS until they get thier act togeter.
I was informed that they had merged and a few days later was informed that the server transfer would take place...then things hit the fan. I noticed major downtime for my websites. They I couldn't load the cPanel. Now my pages have an error saying the server has been reset...I cannot even log into my cPanel now because my username and password don't work (and haven't changed).
I was getting decent response from them, but now that I want a refund they are taking their sweet time.
Apparently after the migration of servers they had a DDOS attack and have been "fighting it ever since". Customer service lacked to inform me days after days of me asking what was wrong with my site/cPanel and after 2 weeks I was given resources to their forums where they had been keeping "up to date information" that they were "directing all their customers to". My website has literally been down for a FULL WEEK.
INSANE! What's even the point?
I just asked for a refund and I will switch hosting...hopefully they give me a refund as I JUST paid to stay on for an extra 2 years...
hostingplex wasn't that bad though...
My e-mail is down several times a week and most of the weekends. My web site is no longer being uploaded correctly (even though it use to work fine). I made all their recommended changes... with out luck.
Now I am back to the Phone/Chat/Submit Ticket circle again.
The phones go unanswered and after 10 min on hold, you have no choice but leave a message. Today, the live Chat does not even work.
I have several e-mails requesting they fix the problem.
