I've only needed help a few times and when I did email support the few times, the quickest response I got was 6 minutes, the longest was 9 hours. I've been with companies that have gone over 16-32 hours for a response. I've never called, but I've used live chat as well which cleared up my question quickly (was regarding wordpress and I needed to reeneable php)
Customer service ruins an OK web hosting service. They secretly tie you into long term automatic renewals, make it difficult to delete your stored payment details (huge mistake giving them my credit card info), have horrible terms of service that essentially remove any normal customer rights, and simply quote read our terms of service on any complaint emails - aka 'get lost!'. Trust me, choose a different company to do business with.

Hostica is a bunch of EVIL SCAMMERS. If as many as one single envious hater reports one of your emails as spam, Hostica suspends your account immediately WITHOUT NOTICE. Then they point your website to a Hostica promotional webpage that promotes their services and says that your website has been suspended for lack of payment. You WILL LOSE EVERYTHING: all of your email, any web updates, your money, EVERYTHING and they WILL STOP communicating with you completely, will give you no backup!! They also lie about the limits of their services and the “friendly customer support”. They are RUDE, CARELESS, IGNORANT and they DO NOT HAVE 24/7 live support, as they promise. Their “live support” is only on a few hours a day. STAY AWAY. These ROBBERS are NOTHING BUT TROUBLE!!!!
I have been with Hostica for over 8 years. They are cheap and not very helpful, you are mostly on your own with them. Dont expect fast customer support and they have left my email account down a few times taking days to resolve. If you dont mind having you account down for a couple days and price the is the only object, you may look for a free service as you will get the same customer support grom them as you will from this paid provider.
I purchased an SSL certificate which says it is installed and of course it is not working as I get a security warning - the result is many of my clients web pages are not working. Over 12 hours and no response to my support ticket. I host over 70 sites with them, and I cannot contact them. They have NO support telephone number either.
Worst hosting company there is. Ignores customer requests for information. Charged me for services and support that I never received. Website was down for over a month. Charged me to repair but never did. Charged me for a domain transfer that they then refused to complete and then refused to refund the money. 100% fraud of a company.
I have been with Hostica over 10 years. They were stellar until a couple years ago. Now you can email them until your blue in the face and they just ignore you. I have a business website that is down, has been for over a month and i've sent in 4 support tickets now, NONE have been answered at all. I bought a service i thought might fix the problem, they charged me, cleared the credit card but then the service was never delivered or setup. All attempts to find out why or to get them to come through have been 100% ignored. I'm filing fraud charges with bank this week. RUN LIKE HELL PEOPLE.
I have been with Hostica for over 10 years, now, and suddenly in the last year, their customer service level has sunk from a former vote of 10 stars to zero. They did not tell us that they no longer took emailed support questions. So I was very surprised when my email bogged down 5 months ago--giving continual errors in the login process, after a month of getting no response--which shocked me, as they were formerly highly responsive--as much as one could expect for such reasonable hosting costs. I was getting a particular error--which even though I erased a LOT of unnecessary emails--has not made any difference. So I know the problems are on their end. And even though I figured out to go to the site to log support issues, they have not bothered to answer my latest about not being able to use their email package on my new iPhone. I can edit email text for all of 2 seconds and then it locks me out of being able to type anything, and it erratically then lets me edit, all of the sudden. [read more...]
These guys are the worst. Not only do they seem clueless as to how to actually help anyone, they don't seem to read the incoming complaints. There email is terrible. I have run over the limit on one account and they are seemingly unable to help me figure out how to clear the account and continue to get mail. I am simply unable to get help from them.
I have never seen anything this bad in my life! I can't believe they are still in business.
I have been with Hostica for more than ten years and have always been very happy with their service considering the very reasonable fee they charge. I have been able to make changes quickly and have always had the level of support that allows me to learn but is there to pull me out of the crapper when needed. On several occasions they were able to get me back on track when i had totally screwed the pooch. On only one occasion did I have a conversation with someone who was rude. Two things I will say about that are 1) I had left a lot of security holes open in my site which had been compromised and I am sure they were not happy about that and 2) People have bad days. It only happened once in over seven years. How bad is that? I have no problem recommending them to anyone and have done so several times in the past. I currently host 15 domains with them and plan to add several more. Hostica gets my vote of confidence.
The speed is OK, however there has been a few times that it seems to be very slow.
Overall I have been very happy however they are not as good as Hostgater.
